JSB 25.4 grain at 911 fps or JSB 34 grain at 820 fps?

I’m guessing the speed you’ve posted is the first measured velocity?
In order to accurately answer your question and determine BC, a velocity measured further down range will have to be known.
Example: MV @ 25 yards & MV @ 50 yards.
I only have meassured my rifles as close as possible to the barrel.... The speeds I am talking about are with the same rifle at the end of the barrel first with the 25.4 grain and the next shot with the 34 grain pellet. I am no so experience in how to measure ballistics.

I know that a rifle could like more one pellet than the other. But if both pellets have acceptable accuracy with out wind, it is important to know wich of those pellets would work better on real world conditions for hunting purposes.

Thanks again to all.

@Emu I don’t calculate BCs or dial turrets. I just shoot, monitor velocity, change hammer spring and reg settings until I find a desirable shot string stats. I shoot 34 grain pellets 50-100 yards from a .25 Brocock Bantam Sniper HR in the mid-800s. They handle the wind well in my experience. I shoot from a tripod and I’m not much of a precision shooter. They group ok for my abilities.

I am in the same team of shooters !

I learn how to compensate with the reticle in stead of moving up or down the turrets. According to my experience there's always a delay in the adjustment of turrets and not an exact return to origin point, so I am more confident just learning how to compensate an leaving the reticle rest were I know it is
dully zeroed.

@rsfrid Nice group. What does the “6.38 HS” correspond to in your notes? Is that the head size of a group of sorted pellets?
Yes. I weigh the pellets into groups of similar weights, then run each pellet through a PelletGage for head size. My guns aren't too sensitive to which head size, but by keeping them in batches of same head size helps prevent fliers to a degree. This is why I can get such small groups. I used to do the same with powder burner bullets as well.

I do not sort pellets.

I just made this group with my Evanix Windy City (non regulated) that has an FX ST barrel. JSB 34 grain .25 Cal.

There are 5 shots at 70 yards. For someone of my age and condition I don’t see it too bad:

Accurate enough for hunting purposes…

Tomorrow I will try another group early in the morning in order to shoot without wind.

My Maverick is tuned 34 grainers at 938fps with ES of 7.0 and STD Dev of 2.1 and does way better at 50 and 100 in stiff breezes than the same rifle with 25 grainers. I retuned for the 34 grainers because of this.
Rsfrid, a moment ago I tried to shoot at one of your targets. It is just imposible for me to focus on them. I just do not see correctly.

With my targets I see where to aim.

Print some of my targets and you will make much better groups. It is much easier!!

Not sure what you mean. I have no trouble seeing my targets at either 25 yds or 50 yards.
