FX "What the #@%&!!!"

Come on already with the pre orders. In Aug 2021 placed a preorder for the new .177cal slug liner. Here I sit in Aug 2022 and still no liner. I understand getting some hype around a product and getting the word out shortly before its release but this is a little ridicules! I have many different brands of guns a like them all but this seems to be a common thing with FX lately. I would rather not know what coming a year + from now or be honest and say "coming soon" but don't put a product out for preorder when its no where near ready for sale! I still love my FX rifles but this practice is extremely frustrating for the consumers! OK I'll stop bitching now!!! Just going to go to bed and dream about all the fun me and my liner would have... :)

You don't have to buy a "liner" from fx. Any competent gunsmith can cut a normal barrel blank for your gun to replace the fx drinking straw inside a straw. It's about $150 for a 600mm barrel blank with a 1 in 18" twist plus whatever the person who machines it charges.

This video will give you an idea but I prefer TJ's barrels.

IF ! i had access to a lathe, i would so get a few blanks from LW and others to play with.
Reason i am a machinist myself and #2 a gun smith doing the work for me, well i am guessing here but i think to do a barrel it would at the very least make my maverick 1/3 more expensive, if not 50% more expensive.
For instance getting your car worked on here, the hourly charge is 82 USD, and i see no reason why a gun smithy should be cheaper.

That said with the 700 mm Superior liner yesterday, i had a really good time shooting 16 gr beasts @ 50 M and later on at +100 M shooting the 13 grain Zan slugs @ 1068 FPS
if the wind had been as promised by the weather gurus i would have been even happier, and if i had that .177 slug liner, OMG i would be so happy.

I do think the Maverick is a flimsy gun, and not only the straw barrel, for sure i do not want to "lean" into mine, approaching it with kid-gloves are a must, for sure they will have to do a lot better if i am to get another FX rifle, CUZ i an not going to spend another 50 %on top to get the rifle to be where it should have been from the factory.

I am retired for health reasons, been so for 1/2 decade,,,, only made it to 50 then my beloved leaders paper pushing minions deemed me worth of early retirement, which did almost blow me off the chair CUZ after decades of abuse of this ( lazy parasites being given early retirement by lazy social workers ) then now it is extremely hard to get early retirement.
And really compared to others i could be way worse off, in general i can function without painkillers for instance.

I could maybe go to a former place of employment and borrow a lathe as i never burn bridges behind me, but if they knew it was to do gun parts they would probably say no,,,,, and i dont lie to people so i would say what i was going to do with the lathe.

If i won the lottery, well my shop i build and equipped, would be A LOT larger than the house i would build, it would also be where i would spend most of my time i am sure,,,,, i just love to make things / do stuff.

Actually machinist & cut / die tool maker was my first educations, it took over 20 years of doing other stuff before i finally used my machine education for work.

Yes, there are not much of a airgun shooter scene here, at least what i know off, there might be something on social media, but i am a too nice guy to go such places.
So i hang with my American internet friends, and hope for the lotto gods to take pity on me, so i can go and sample all the good things i can not have, and meet interesting people.
Also plenty of the USA i will have to see, so much i would probably need 4-5-6 months to catch it all.

Thanks for the feed back. I know a barrel can be out sourced and maybe I go this route in the future. My issue is simply FX putting something out for preorder when it is not ready to release to the public. I'm sitting on a year old pre-order with no idea when or at this point if ever! FX if your out there, can you please give us a time line on the new 177cal slug liners!!!
