Taipan mechanics?

Any Vet mechanics currently online? I am attempting to do an O-ring change on a friend‘s veteran, so far pretty good. But I am having trouble getting the circled part separated from the block. I realize that there is a set screw in the house in which I have loosened but it still won’t budge. Any suggestions please?

The gun has an air leak, anything over 100 bar, the air starts leaking. air stabilizes at about 100 bar. I have pulled the regulator and replace the O-rings in that, but that did not seem to work, so I suspect my part circled in red

Thanks!

I've removed this part numerous times. there should be be a hole on the side near the thread by the front of it to the right that goes through both sides. Once you find it, like in the pic. You will need something to fit through both sides It's regular threading also righty tidy lefty Lucy.

Also there is a valve inside there so make sure you put it back exactly.

Number one, thank you for your advice on that. That part was on super tight and I was a little bit nervous trying to get that off but it finally came. Number two, I am not exactly sure where the air leak is coming from at this point, I have replaced the O-rings based on the exploded schematic view on the owners manual. I have taken the regulator out of the body of the air tube, and replaced the different O-rings. I assume that would have solved my problem, but after I reassembled everything it’s still has a leak over 100 bar, then for some reason it stabilizes

There is a picture of the three O-rings that I replaced

I’m too late to help you with the air tube plug removal since you already have it out. I do want to mention that the pins that Taipan supplies with the extra o-rings are meant to assist with removing the plug. You just insert a pin on each side and use them for extra leverage to unscrew the plug.

I just noticed this post by Cole (Franklink) that would probably be a big help to you.

I have been private messaging him for a couple of weeks on this job, and that list of his O-rings was very helpful, I ordered all those rings and multiples from the O-ring Store.

Not sure if you changed the o ring on that part you removed that screws into the airtube and the front airtube also. Id change both of those to be sure. Make sure they are not knicked. Also Is the front bleed screw tight?
Sorry, I am a newbie at this. From the Taipan instruction manual, do you happen to have the part number for that bleed screw?

This particular Taipan .25 is at least five years old. I have one that’s pretty new, it’s less than a year old and in a schematic part number 99 looks like it belongs in front of that part I just removed. But in my buddies gun that O-ring is not there

I really wish Taipan would’ve put a part description by each part number, that would really eliminate a lot of confusion
