Is it possible?

I'm not new to air rifles but new to my 1st PCP, an Air Venturi Avenger .22cal shooting JSB 18.13 domed.

I've been struggling with my groupings for months. Many YouTube videos have indicated that the optimal sped for these pellets is anywhere between 860fps and 920fps - so that's what I've been tuning for.

I've been using a cheap Chinola chronograph pictured below. Yesterday while tuning, yet again, I clocked the pellets at 820-830 fps and all of a sudden, I was finally getting bullseye after bullseye. Mind you, I have only 21 yards to play with in my backyard.

What do you think? Can this chrono be that far off or is it possible my AVA shoots these pellets better at a lower velocity?

As an aside: Is there a calculator out there that can determine fpe downrange vs out of the muzzle?

880 is the speed pellets stabilize at,roughly, watching night vision footage really lets you see the difference in how pellets tragect ,even though point of impact is same some cork screw to the target others fly straight . This is why you gotta try some different pellets, my gun doesn’t group 8.4s on high power as good as medium power ,but shoots 10.6 s the same at either power.

I have one also and think for the price dose a great job in accuracy
A member here (autoair) made a V block and clamp that make it faster to attach
