Matt Dubber Mk2 Impact

I have a chance to buy a Impact Mk2 Matt Dubber Edition, I also have an abundance on CPHP's, has anyone tried shooting them in a Dubber Edition? I know it doesn't make alot of sense to shoot cheap pellets in an expensive gun but I have them and would like to shoot them with acceptable accuracy out of this gun if possible.
That rifle comes tuned for slugs, right? It features a slug power kit and slug liner, I believe. This .22 caliber Impact comes out of box capable of pushing 40 grain Patriot slugs at nearly 900 fps. I can't imagine 15 grain CPHP being accurate at more than 1300 fps.
You may have to perform some major mods to tune the MD Impact for pellets.

Lol CPHPs.

Brother, I love me some cheap pellets. Let me help you disposing them in a more efficient process: get a semi auto in .22 (any model and brand).

All hypothetical, but:
That slugger edition was created and tuned for POWER. Would seem that you will need to de-tune it significantly to get 14 gr CPHP's shooting below supersonic. And then you have to wonder whether its slug-centric barrel will work well with CPHP's.

Maybe someone has some direct experience, but seems to be a long shot.

On a different (but maybe related) topic, sometimes when I buy a used gun it has been tuned 'The American Way' - everything all maxed out power wise. I'm just a lowly pellet shooter so a maxxed out gun is a) absolutely no fun for me to shoot and b) generally has poor accuracy.

Shooting light pellets out of a Dubber (slugger) edition - just doesn't sound fun to me.

I have no idea how good a gunsmith Matt Dubber is. He does a lot of experimentation and developement. Personally, I would buy a new factory gun that is built on factory jigs and everything is straight and true. Plus you get a 3 year warranty. If you want to shoot powderburner power levels, get a powderburner. They're cheaper.

Thanks for the replies guys, all were kind of what I was expecting. Gun isn't really what I've been looking for but just popped of locally from a friend. I think I'll keep looking for something along the lines of a Wildcat, Veteran, or ???
Get a Uragan they are discounted in a lot of places now with the arrival of the version 2 and Vulcan 3 and shoots a lot of ammo just fine out of the box.

It is the same with any gun , try it , if the barrel like it ,your in luck. what exactly is this edition compared to Reg. ones off the shelve ?

It’s just a marketing ploy.

The guns shipped with that build and spec. I don’t think he ever saw them.

Matt dubber edition is just a factory MK2 with slug kit installed with custom color and slug tune by Utah air. Matt doesn’t touch the gun at all let along work one it. Why wouldn’t it be under FX factory warranty? FX has 3 year warranty on basically all their products for 3 years, most other brands have only 1 year warranty and getting warranty is another story on top of that with many are non-transferable. Crosman is the only except I know of with fantastic customer service.
