Impact M3 louder than usual (probably a simple fix I'm overlooking)...

Hello AGN:

I haven't done much with any of my airguns this year due to work and other hobbies (mostly golf). My previously uber trusty (and relatively quiet) Impact M3 0.25 is behaving oddly after I recently double loaded it by accident. Shortly after the double loading, there's a noticeably louder pop at the breech side near my ear when I shoot it. I tried replacing the Tatsu with a larger Sumo then Ronin mod to check for any change in the report - and the pop sounded the same with all three mods so it appears that the sound is coming from the breech side and not from the moderator side.

I thought maybe I'd blown out the breech o-ring but it was still there; I replaced it anyways thinking it might have been damaged. The louder pop was still there even with the newly replaced o-ring. I tried re-seating the barrel and pellet probe as well as swapping out multiple magazines but those didn't fix it either.

Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this?

[FWIW, I shot my M3 0.22 that is shooting slugs at a much higher FPS and don't get the pop at the breech - only the normal muffled report on the moderator side...]

Thanks in advance for the help!

There is a o ring in the breech which blew out and the reason you heard pop by your ear replace the o-ring if u already checked that I would pull the barrel it could have been one of the 2 o-ring on the outside of the transfer port on the barrel
As mentioned in the original post, the breech o-ring was still present but I replaced it anyways - didn't fix the problem. I did also re-align/re-seat the barrel because I thought maybe it wasn't pushed all the way back and therefore not sitting flush with the magazine. In the process of doing that, I saw that the 2 outside o-rings on the transfer port are both present as well.

I fixed it guys...

I took the barrel back out and replaced the two 10x2mm o-rings on the outside of the transfer port area. I put some silicone grease on the new o-rings since the old ones were bone dry. Then, when putting the barrel back in, I remembered that I'd previously had it installed using the "S" (slug) high-output port but mistakenly had it set on the normal "P" (pellet) port when I was messing around with it this morning. So I re-installed it on the "S" port . . . and either the new o-rings/silicone grease or using the "S" port was the fix because the pop is now gone :)

Glad to have my trusty 0.25 back to normal!

Yen, if your hearing a pop and a gust of air by your face it’s 100% guaranteed it’s the tiny 2.2 x 1 o ring at the very end of the valve stem

This is going to require a complete tear down to gain access to that valve rod within the power plenum.
