good find !! i'd be lost without mine.

Not great but I use rechargeables

Rechargeable batteries is the only way to go....The chrono is always with me when I hunt or shoot...Really can't live without one in this hobby. When you download the app it will be the latest and greatest.....I deleted my app about 4 months ago and uploaded the new one which had updates for a few issues the Chrono was having like not picking up a few shots or a bad read. They do have a warning light when batteries start to get low which helps a lot.

Nah the only way to go is to solder on an extension and use an external battery bank!

This is the only way to go!! It also moved the heat away from the unit.

I use THIS and then you can use any usb power supply, like a wall charger or usb phone charger battery pack. No soldering or voiding of any warranty.

I take the batteries out otherwise it eats them like candy. Make sure you have the correct profile for the speed of your rifle. Always adjust the pellet weight otherwise the readings will be incorrect.

FWIW
I've had mine, bought new, when they first came out.
It has worked flawlessly with my iPhone
Except that automatic update feature in my iPhone 6S has missed every update
So, I update by reinstalling the App
Either every 3 months, or whenever using it again after a few months of not using it

mine is about a year old i use it once a month sometimes a little more still the same set of Duracell batteries

ive had batteries last for 3 range trips of multiple hours each time without needing a new set.

i keep a set in the case with my impact just in case though

its the best airgun accessory ive ever bought,
i would be completely lost without it.

if you get one get the picatinny mount from midwest elite airguns,
no more fiddling with rubber bands,
slide it onto any picatinny rail and off you go,
makes for a lightning fast setup.

Just remember your speed settings. If you happen to start losing readings. It may be too slow or too fast for the setting you have it programed for.

I took a look at the FX Radar picatinny mount at Midwest Elite Airgun.
The photo appears to show the FX Radar mounted back near the receiver
That plays havoc with my understanding that placement near the muzzle was crucial

on my impact,
i mount it on the side rail as shown in the midwest elite page,
i have mounted it on the supressor and got the same velocity readings.

as im understanding it,
the radar is "seeing" the pellet moving away from it,
i dont think it matters if the pellet exits the barrel ahead of the chrono,
as the radar is going to pick it up the instant it leaves the muzzle.

I will try mounting mine further back than the usual near the muzzle position, and to the side as well
Rubber bands of course

you can also use a cardboard tube clamped in a scope ring addatched to a side rail to mount the chrono on.
thats what i did before i got the picatinny mount.

I printed a tripod mount for mine but I just sit the chrono on the bench now without the tripod and it works perfectly.
