Almost there on my Predator Polymag solution

So, these now BARELY fit in my magazines for the .30 caliber AEA - I'm going to try a little deeper cut on the next batch, and going to pay a little more attention to maintaining a 90 degree cut - but, overall I'm happy with the clean and round cut, and the highly consistent change to the meplat here.

Did an entire tin of Polymags in less than 5 minutes, and without any of the typical highspeed polymer projectiles! (if you've ever trimmed these with a set of snippers, you know! Felt like I was going to lose an eye)

Thoughts? Is it better to just mod the ammo a bit, or do you think messing around with machining the magazines is the way to go? (Assuming you REALLY want to use Polymags..)

Some go to great lengths to make a single ammo shoot from their gun. I personally go to great lengths to find an ammo my gun likes best, and stick with it. Cheaper and less work in the long run. Lol
polymags are awesome hunting rounds though. That’s for sure!

Yeah, I have an AEA HP SS MAX that really, REALLY likes to eat Polymags... That's why I've been headed down this road. :)

Overall it's dang nice to have a high power setup that works this well with the Polymags, it's just a small headache that they don't fit the magazines.

aren't polymags more a gimmick than a good pellet?

even worse that batch are slightly different lengths now and a canted cut. :/ ya won't hit 1" 10-shot groups at 50Y with those.

I used to think so... They never really ran well in anything i've had, up until I found both my .22 Leshiy Classic and my AEA HP SS MAX like them.

In the case of the AEA they're nearly as accurate as JSB's are out to 40 yards, and hit like a mack truck, in the Leshiy Classic, they're not quite as accurate as JSBs, but they are dang good and dump energy well there.. And happily I don't need to trim them for the Huma pellet dispenser...

The AEA won't shoot any of the slugs I've tried worth a darn - looks like a shotgun with the worst of them, and just like a bad fit on the good ones.
Agreed on the canted cut, as I said, was careless on the first batch there - though, those pellets were from an amazon tin that were so beat to crap anyway I'm not sure it greatly harmed the accuracy - I wouldn't have attempted a 50 yard shot with them in the first place. :).

The ones that I trim for more than a quick test will be much cleaner and consistent. :)

Miami airgunner, probably the reason your max won't shoot slugs is because the max .30 barrel is .303 and not .300. Head over to Nsa and select the .303 47.2. You can thank me later.

I think the ones I have are the correct size. Still doesn't like 'em. In fact, the 47.2 in my particular gun makes for a nice shotgun pattern.

I shoot them out of my one gun with a TJ barrel. Clip them with fingernail clippers and trust me, they aren’t even close to being the same. I can shoot them all in a nickel at 50 yards. I will be taking that gun tomorrow for squirrel. I prefer them over slugs for shooting out to 50. They are not a gimmick if your gun likes them. Big pop and things fall dead. The fly in the ointment is they absolutely hate the wind.

Sorry to hear that. My max love the 47. 2 303's. Each gun and barrel is dis different. Nice work with the poly mags.

I've had good luck with Polymags in most all of my guns. I use the .22 caliber Polymag shorts in my Benjamin Cayden, as the standard size doesn't fit in the magazine.

The 25 caliber Polymag shoots amazing inside 50yds out of both my Origin and 600mm FX Maverick. I was surprised to see in testing that they still held tight groups in the Maverick at 990fps, but I typically send them out around 930fps since they will group into one hole at that speed if I do my part.

I just picked up a box of the 43.8 grain .300 slugs, and for whatever reason, my AEA is clearly .300 not .303 as seems to be the usual.
Thing really is accurate as can be with the .300's. Still, I'm a huge fan of the energy dump I get out of the polymags, but I'm thinking that these light small diameter slugs may be pretty awesome too./

picked these up today....

... probably not as good as Predator Polymags, but eh, about half the price.

EDIT: yup, they suck. fortunately they're for a different project. but at 25Y, all over the place with whatever I used.
Uggghhhh

I tried them as well.
The price was right, but the performance was wrong......

I had a QB78 that shot them so so at 25 yards, but overall they are poodoo in any of my rifles.
