Go Brocock Ranger XR or Ghost...?

Okay well, the saga of trying to get a replacement Ranger XR continues. (last one new off the shelf was rusted)

Tomorrow the replacement Brocock Ranger XR in 22 WAS supposed to arrive tomorrow morning, after 3 weeks back and forth.

Well, today I got a call from AOA and well, they screwed up and sent 2 guns to me (someone else's order) and vs just letting me get mine and send the other back they recalled the whole order. 🤬 The guy was apologetic, but wouldn't give me a fixed date on when I would get the gun I have already paid for, 5 weeks ago.

Right before the "sike" you have to wait one to two more weeks for your gun" phone call I had put in a pre order on a Ghost carbine in 177 and I would switch out the Uragan because I want a slug shooting 177, and @SorenDrost shows it can do it. The only consolation I got from AOA is they would try to expedite the order, but wouldn't send me a gun on the shelf, I had to wait for the one in transit.

Now I am considering just cancelling the order and get the Ghost instead.

Since getting rid of the perfectly functioning Ranger XR in 177 this has been anything but smooth to get a trade in Ranger XR in 22.

While I understand your frustration, I wouldn’t blame this on the gun. This is on AOA to make right. The atomic xr platform has proven itself worthy time and time again in the hands of a few great shooters here on the forum. If you had already planned on replacing the Uragan for the ghost, why replace the ranger? Different guns for different tasks.
If only there was another dealer for brocock that could make your experience better!

kinda like fx didnt know that

I've not spent time with a Ranger XR but I did spend a decent amount of time working through a Concept XR and I believe they're fairly similar.

I'm also currently going through a Ghost.

Between the Concept XR and the Ghost, the Ghost is a better gun. (Better trigger-in design and feel, higher level of machining, more versatile, better ergonomics, etc).

Although, it you have one narrow window of intended use for this role you have in mind for the gun, and the Ranger XR fits it and you think you'll be completely happy with it in that role, you'll save yourself some $$$ by going with the Ranger XR.

Part of me regrets not going to the Leshiy 2, but I can't get past some things the owner of the company said thus my ethical and moral compass can't be overcome. Then what put it over the edge are the huge price increases on the L2.

Today I will call AOA to make it right, and if they don't have the Ranger Iguana variant in stock, send me the standard or otherwise upgrade the moderator free of charge. Their mistake screwed up my hunting opener for squirrel here in NH.

I did take advantage of AoAs sale on a .22 Ranger XR and have been delighted. To me, I would like to own one of each as I like the stock configuration of the Ranger XR but also like the tactical layout of the Ghost (I have an RTI Prophet performance to cover that base with .30 and .22 barrels). I am thinking about a Ranger XR Magnum in .25 to round out the collection. Maybe a ghost instead but the wife also likes the Ranger stock better than the Prophet.

I have a Uragan in .25 caliber that I shoot both pellets and slugs - which it does both very well. My .22 Ranger XR also shoots slugs very well and I was able to consistently hit a 6 inch metal target at 200 yards with both rifles. Unfortunately the targets are at a public range so I could not tell "where" I was hitting them to better adjust my aim. At 100 yards I can but 10 rounds in a dime size hole with either gun using slugs. That is also with using a bipod on each and my arms on the rear, so that's about as good as I can do. I really enjoy both guns and would not want to part with either. The XR Sniper let's me adjust the power easily for backyard pesting where as the Uragan would be too much to use.

What is it with companies trying to look like impacts? Sorry I will never own another impact or impact wanna be’s.. nothing but marketing propaganda.. I fell victim to the fx kick but wised up, they are not any better than other rifles.. I’ll stick to American made air rifles

What air rifles other then American Air Arms are made in the USA that are any good? Very curious. What do you shoot? I'm not trying to be a funny guy. Genuinely interested!!!!

Jsar raptors, war flex, RAW, Air Force etc… I know your already going to start bashing so I’m sure you never owned a jsar so don’t even open your mouth about them, yes they had problems in the past with customer support but since the business got a new owner I never had any problems with customer support, they always answer my emails asap and ship quick also and that will be your first comment probably that jsar sucks. second I know wicked air rifles are no longer in business but I chose to keep them in my arsenal awsome platform, you can’t have any negative things to say about RAW rifles so don’t go there.. I was sucked into the fx marketing in the past but no longer have any, my choice.. if you choose to be a fx marketing fan boy then so be it.. and those are just a few of American made rifles, do your research there are more
