HW50 in .20

From wandering retailers that sell anything HW, most seem to be out of stock on pretty much everything and even Krale is hit or miss for having anything in stock anymore.
As jccams mentioned, you can try AoA. From personal experience, they're crazy slow updating anything on their website. Heck, they still list any number of Vortek PG2 tuning kits that haven't been made in a few years now...lol: https://www.airgunsofarizona.com/tuning-kits/
Might be why they still list the 50 in .20. That, or they have an order in and like jc had to, have been waiting overly long to actually get any. You can try getting enough shooters together to do a new group buy and the last one took members from several forums to get enough, but I wouldn't hold your breath on how long you'll have to wait.

I was in the second group of special ordered 50`s in .20 caliber. When I saw a post about the first order I called AoA to ask if I could get in on the deal. I don’t remember the reps name but he said the order was limited to 10. He explained that if they get 10 more interested parties they would put in another order. Afterwards they began to offer the HW50s in.20 caliber.
I don't know if that helps to answer your question but maybe you should ask about doing the same with the hw35

I don’t know if this will help, but I just check the AOA website from time to time. Last January (2022) or so I just happened to notice they had .20 HW50’s available. I didn’t waste any time ordering one. I’m really glad I did. For me an HW50 has always been pretty much ideal and they’re just superb in .20.

Very similarly I noticed this summer that AOA had HW95’s available in .20 (they’re gone now, except for the Luxus). I was sorely tempted but my funds went to an FWB Sport instead which is another story.

BTW, according to what I’ve seen over the years and the Weihrauch website HW35’s are not available in .20. People with more history of these rifles would know more.

You’re definitely on a worthwhile quest.

Also on the hunt for .20 springers. Prefer underlevers, though I do like my HW50s in .177. I picked up a HW77 from AoA in early September, waiting on the 97 there, watching Krale, everywhere else with no luck so far.

The 77 is just settling in, threw an old diopter on it. Shooting quite nicely on the 10 meter line in stock configuration.

PA has R7's but only in .177 and no option for .20 or .22 anymore. Leaves you hoping AoA has the 30 in .20 or hit Fleabay or the auction sites and hope one shows up.
I was going to jump on the 50s .20 bandwagon but opted to go a different route instead when I found out there were a couple of these still out there.
Custom built by Diana D34K Premium in .20 caliber. Cost a bit more considering only 30 were made but I own #15 of 30.

I have a factory .20 RWS Diana 34 dated 05/99 not sure how many were built.
It is my Quigley bucket challenge/The 2nd battle of Adobe Walls open sight gun.
They came with a RWS 36 stock. It is a flat out shooter and I really like that gun. I also have a HW97 .20 with
one of the last Lazerglide kits to come out of the Venom shop before it closed. It is also a flat out shooter (No pun intended). A air gun friend of mine who was a professional gunsmith installed the kit and set the trigger up. It has the best R trigger I have ever shot including on some 2000.00 guns.
I really wish the HW57 came in .20. I have a R7 in .177 I am afraid that the R 7 in .20 just will be a little anemic for my taste. What have you guys done to overcome that in your .20 R7? I sure some of you guys will remember the Robert Hamilton claimed (Hope I got the name right)R7 .177 75+ yard shots on ground squirrels in California he had the pictures to prove it. IIRC there were some 100 + yard shots claims. He got called out on some of it and finally quit posting (Back on the yellow). I had/have no reason to doubt him. So I would think you could push an R7 .20 35-45 yards with out much trouble. I think I could live with that along as I did not have to rainbow them in. The HW77 above is just as nice as it gets, but looking for something just a little bit lighter. Now if the right HW77 came across and some one wanted to trade for some high end automatic knives, then I might have to make a deal.

Diana made 34's in .20 back in the day then quit, although way before my time so no idea why. Gentleman named Hector Medina got the idea to set up a group buy and have 30 each of the 34's and 54's only with L-W blanks made to his specs. The 34's were built first, back around 2006 or so and I got mine all these years later after several buyers dropped out, he had to buy several himself to guarantee 30 and they ended up on a shelf.
The R7 .20 I have is Huntington Beach Era, and built in 2005. Appears to have never been opened up since I went over every inch and couldn't find a single mark anywhere. Numbers I got over my chrony with FTT's and the JSB 13.73gr:
-H&N FTT's: Average 554, ES 11, SD 3, 7.78 fpe
-JSB Exact: Average 497, ES 20, SD 6, 7.53 fpe
I only use it out to the 30ish yards I have for a backyard, but it's easily taken squirrels that far out and if I do my part, both pellets easily shoot under dimed sized groups.

If you call AoA, they will put you on a waiting list for the HW50 .20 (or any other guns they don't have in stock.) When I got on the list, they said it might arrive in a month. When I checked a while later, they said they said they didn't really know and it might be a year. I ended up finding a used one shortly after. It's definitely a worthy little rifle, as is the .22 and .177 HW50.

Back when the HW50s in .20 caliber was not being offered at AoA and they were only selling them as they received orders from 10 interested parties someone on this or perhaps it was another forum made an interesting observation about those particular rifles produced in .20 caliber. A supposition was made that the barrels were perhaps re-bored .177 barrels that resulted in a tighter pellet fit at the breech, resulting in increased velocity.
Does anyone else remember reading this or am I wrong about my recollection.

HW95 Field Pro aka Beeman R9...lol. There was a time when Beeman was selling the R7 and R9 with no open sights. When they went back to putting them on, Weihrauch ran with the idea to make the Field Pro.

Just need a 95 Luxus, remove the open sights and glue a muzzle break on the front.
