NEW - BSA Meteor Super

BSA-MeteorSuper.jpg

The BSA Meteor Super is the latest break barrel airgun in the historical Meteor lineage from Birmingham Small Arms. This gas piston air rifle delivers all the power and performance of a full size break-barrel, without any of the vibration from a traditional spring. Using gas-ram technology, breaking the barrel compresses air in the inner chamber behind a piston. When fired, this piston is propelled forward without any interference from a mainspring, giving you a smooth yet crisp snap of controlled recoil. This translates to accurate firing. And speaking of accuracy, the BSA Meteor Super bears a renowned BSA hammer-forged barrel and is threaded for an additional airgun moderator. The barrel along with the entire BSA Meteor Super are proudly Made in England to ensure the best quality and longevity for which BSA is well respected in the airgun world.

This new BSA Meteor Super is in stock now!

I love BSA but this just seems like an over priced 2nd tier SS. That's harsh, but the Meteor had always been the cheaper model and had different cylinders. I've got a Brocock Independent(dressed up Meteor MK6) which is similar to this build but in Walnut and a great gun, but not $400+. Adding the barrel tension pin is a big step forward. The Brocock and the Super Sport Customs had it. Hopefully a new Lightning or SS is on the way with similar feature.

My lamenting aside I'm happy they're bringing some spring stuff out. Id love to see another under lever from BSA.

Gamo cylinders and BSA barrels most likely, but I could be wrong. If it is that set up, it's not a bad one, but if your after a $400+ spring gun you might as well try an HW, Diana or AA. Heck an old BSA SS or Lightning would be cheaper and likely better.

Hopefully the price comes down. It does beg the question, if they're charging this for a Meteor, what would they charge for a new updated SS or Lightning? Add another $100 to the cost and it better be the bees knees.

I have one of these in my possession. It was sent by AoA for Review. It will be a Real World review. I just got it less than a week or so ago and I’m still gathering data. Will answer as much as I can about the gun in Due Time. I have a real job, real family, and limited time. I’m NOT getting paid for the review! The gun is NOT mine to keep. But, I am stocked to have the gun, and will do what I can as time allows. Currently working on a First Impressions. Will follow up with real performance and data. Stay tuned.

I'm not impressed with the accuracy thus far for a sub 12 ft/lb rifle. I'm sorry if I missed what you said about the trigger?
I'm thinking he needs a warmer day, a cleaner barrel, a little bit of break in.

That trigger is one of the crispest two stage triggers I've ever shot. As you come from the factory it's usually set for about 3 lb or 4 lb. The slack is really easy to take up. At that point you come into a wall. As you increase pressure the shot breaks with zero creep.

That is true unless they have changed that trigger.
