What are some good ideas for actively working towards growing the sport?
Do you guys have kid specific events in your areas?

#matchresultsmonday
#believeitornot I didn’t actually shoot a match this weekend… I did however get plenty of #pewpews in with the kids at our local @utahplinksters event This event focuses on providing a positive experience and education of the fundamental #firearm safety rules! We took out some sweet #airguns thanks to @utah_airguns and the kids had a blast shooting all sorts of Halloween related targets provided by @801_saltcity_shooter I’d encourage you to get out with your young ones and share the love also

Plant gardens. Make everything, including the people tending them grow. Believe it or not, airguns fit into this equation.

Youth class with big prizes go far at promoting the sport. Let the one who puts in the most work, be the winner. And for some of the bigger companies, possibly start offering some sort of scholarship program for young shooters.

Possibly an airgun class, promoted to High Schools that offer a hunters safety course. All kids who passed their Hunters safety course get a free range day. Have a large cargo trailer with all the supplies needed for setting up a promotional shooting range for a 2-3 day event. Offer a class prior that explains how students can get involved in the sport. If schools were leary of student participation, possibly just offer a demo of the new technology.

Thank you for making the effort, like many things that are worthwhile it is not easy. Tried to encourage shooting sports with my kids, their friends, friends kids, etc. with mixed results. Some kids love to shoot and will find a game they like. Sometimes that only goes as far as dumping a few mags. Some like the challenge and discipline of the more organized games. Disappointing to see one that shows great potential but doesn't want to be interrupted from their best life. Apparently for many these days, that best life is lived online. End of curmudgeonly comments.

Best of luck with the program! Makes me think I should try again to get something like that going in my neighborhood.

Ya if it gets to one it’s worth the effort in my opinion. Good luck if you decide to get back after it

At our club, The Marbletown Sportsman's Club. We have a Junior Sportsman’s Program, where young kids are taught the basics of gun handling/shooting. We use BB guns for the very young, some of my PCPs for the kids that might be interested. And .22 rimfires for the older kids. We fund the program with a club auction once a year. Passing it on is the reward. Great post @UtahPewPew
