Sheridan Silver Streak

Just thought I would post up a cpl pics of a Sheridan, Silver Streak for any of you Sheridan fans.
I acquired this from the wife of a friend of mine that pasted away a few months back.
I remember this rifle sitting in the shop for the last 20yrs just collecting dust (while we shot his 392) since it didn't work.
Once I picked it up, figured out what it was, I had to see if I could rebuild it.
Near as I can figure, its a 1954-1957 Sheridan Silver Streak that is actually in very good condition.
I ended up converting to an adjustable pump rod, machined a new multi ported exhaust valve and replaced the typical worn parts.
I think the only thing it is missing is the pad that snaps onto the top of the barrel to grab when pumping up (if these early ones even came with them).
It now pumps up, holds air and shoots really well with the few old Sheridan pellets I found. It turned out so well I ended up refinishing the stock set as well.

Anyways, hope you enjoy

Have one, although mine is a 1973. Shoots both H&N FTT and JSB 13.73's very well so when you do need more ammo, either should shoot well in it.
Condolences on the loss of your friend.
I would guess it may not be too picky on ammo brands, if I could find any to try that is.
Seems that the .20's are not made in much volume, been looking for quite awhile.
Not willing to pay the ebay prices yet:)

Got my last batch of H&N at AoA:

Always loved the flat shooting of my springer's with the . 20. Trophy pellets are crazy accurate as well.

Wow, that's a Beauty. I have a few Sheridan's, all in . 20. And I own a Benjamin in . 22 which they came in both . 177 and . 22.
So this is a . 22 gun? I'm wondering now when was the 1st. .20 Sheridan produced. Thanks for sharing.

Wow - schweet rebuild! One of my little brother's friends had one, the hold down safety version, and he let us use it all the time. I later on bought one, used it for years, but it was stolen out of the backseat of my '63 Galaxy 500 after a fishing trip.

Let us know how it does with some modern projectiles when you can.

I only chronied the JSB 13.73's in mine but on 6 pumps averaged 603fps and at 8 pumps got 665fps. Was told that's pretty spot on by a friend who owns quite a few, a couple of those being the Sheridan A and B models.

I have a Beji 392 in . 22 and it was shooting 32 grn ultra mags at 550fps @21 ft/lbs. Pretty impressive.
