Arken Optics - new line

why cant you buy here have one shipped
I could do that, and it will probably also be the end of it, but taxes ASO in customs tend to ruin any shopping experience as they also ruin my country in general ( no one pay more tax than Danes )

The reticle on the SH series though, well this newer one are much nicer i must admit, also like the newer EP series, but more expensive, and i have to look at price a lot as a guy on a pension.

Not completely accurate. The weight isn’t always based on size of tube. It’s usually based on number of lenses. The cheaper the scope, the more lenses they use to get good glass quality. Some of the “higher end” manufacturers are able to use higher quality lenses and coatings, and cut down the number of lenses needed. This greatly reduces weight. That comes at a price, and sadly more than I can afford!
Partially true, but I checked a number of different brand scopes with 34 mm tubes with a magnification range of about 6-24X including Athlon, Arken, Vortex, EOTech and Burris. The lightest is the Burris at 29.8 oz and the winner is the Vortex Razor at 48 oz. Maybe better or fewer lenses can cut weight, but you can't deny that more aluminum adds weight.

not sure why they capped the windage turret i think its stupid and pain in the a hole to have to remove it if you got to move it, ill sure not run the cap this will be nice scope for sure, hopefully they get in before 6 weeks as dealers cant cant them till they are in stock gtta love arken they dont want a bunch pre orderes to glog up the system great job illl have them for sale soon as available
Most precision shooters dial for elevation and use the reticle to adjust for windage.
Wind calls can change from shot to shot and dialing is slow.

Same here. That's why the whole Xmas tree reticles were designed. Long rang shooters and Mil snipers learned that the wind changes constantly as you engage targets. Once you dial your elevation dope in to get to that distance, the wind holds come into play. The changes made prior to a shot are applied quicker using the reticle to adjust for wind. By the time you dial wind, the value changes. Now you have to dial again...oops, it changed again.

If you always dial for elevation then the Xmas tree isn't needed only the cleaner looking cross with offset marks for windage. The Xmas tree is useful if you hold off for both elevation and windage. If you dial for both you just need a dot or small cross.

I dial mostly, but the Christmas tree reticle is nice for those quick shots where you know your dope, but don’t have time to dial. That’s the difference between hunting and punching paper.

Where are ya'll getting 34mm? The EPL4 looks to be 30mm. If their not i need to call arken and change my order so the rings fit. I ordered 30mm med rings. Hoping this will be a good fit on my 25 cal R5m long. They have a special on the ring package right now. $170 off with code NSF$170 .

He was talking about the previous models that were “heavy” because they were 34mm. The new one is 30mm which is why he believes they’re lighter. You’re all good!

Oh, I agree, you can certainly use the X tree reticle for both. It gives a shooter lots of options

I know a lot of sites say the scope or item cannot be shipped outside the USA.Why I do not know.
ITAR and EAR Government requirements. For the longest times you couldn't export (sale) CAD and CAM software, CNC Tooling, night vision, etc. etc. etc
Don't want that technology in the hands of countries that don't like us. HAHAHA
