Hello everyone,

I went to Kwik Kopy this morning and they gave me a bunch of various “paper” samples to take home and shoot to test and see which one produced the best / cleanest pellet hole. I set the samples up at 25-yards and shot 5-times at each with a .177 Diabolo pellet. The overall best turned out to be a “card stock” called #67 Vellum and the holes almost look like they were drilled, even the back side was really clean and round ( see photos ). I am having two hundred printed ( 8-1/2 x 11 size ) for one target that I will use for the East Texas Benchrest Challenge. If you are looking for some great stock to have your targets printed on, give this a try, hope this will be of some help.

Hello AirGunShooter,

I did tape these on some fresh cardboard for backing material but I am really pleased how sharp and clean each hole was, even the double hole.

Hello rob-g

I have a nice home printer but I don't think it could handle this heavy of material. They are charging me .19 cents a sheet by ordering 200 sheets which is not too bad.

I think I paid the rate for 500 sheets but I had 3 different targets printed on 3 different colors of paper to get that total. It was somewhere in the area of $80 a couple years ago. A whole lot cheaper and easier than buying ink cartridges. They also printed me a sample so I could put a scale on it to confirm the sizes of the rings and targets were correct.

Thanks for the idea, I've been using copies on standard paper spray glued onto light carboard. Unless the glue is perfect the paper can still tear. Just ordered a 250 sheet ream of the 67# vellum stock.

Hello badger5th,

You must have a big printer to handle that heavy material. I have four more target designs that I will have them print on this stock.

That does look like good stock, even with the multi hits the holes look clean. The print shop said my targets would be ready early next week and I will shoot some and post a picture here.

Bye the way, I believe your score for that card is 1000+ :D :ROFLMAO: :p , that is some good shooting.

Hello ctshooter,

I tape all four corners of my targets onto a heavy cardboard backing to prevent tearing as much as possible. I have steel backing plates offset from the cardboard to prevent "pellet splatter" back on the targets.

Yes i was surprised at the cost but that is a minimum order , although 500 sounds like a lot as a single bull target it go's faster . next order will be 5 or 10 bull
targets
