So I went looking for my DreamLine Magazine to adjust the barrel. I KNOW I left it on the floor near the Gun.
But it seemed to have pulled a Houdini on me! I searched through drawers of parts, boxes of stuff, and no magazine!
Hours spent cussing and about to order a new one? I took one last chance.
Moved the carpet shampooer and not there so started to walk away.
Then I decided to LIFT the shampooer up and look. Guess what I found!
Out of 3 Cats? I have my prime suspect! Gonna have to keep an eye on her from now on and NOT leave things around on the floor!

Be glad you don't have ferrets... They are the worst at stealing and hiding stuff.
He ain't lying. Couldn't find my wallet once, ended up cancelling the credit card, getting a new driver's license etc. Weeks later, moved the couch & out fell that wallet. She took it up in the springs & hid it, along with a bunch of other items. Couldn't be mad, just a ferret ferreting.

Have a cat that seems to love the smell of Ballistol. She likes to jump up on the work bench & sniff around whenever I break it out for cleaning.

Had a cat who made it mandatory you shook out your shoes before putting them on. She would also jump up on my reloading bench, pick up any brass laying loose and take it behind the toilet off my gun room. Had another very athletic little male who would spring in the air and do back flips with perfect landings. Always scored a 10.0.

Had ferrets in college. One day we notice that there are no more spoons and now my new shiny keys are missing. Scour the house and finally check the basement couch. Voila! Smaug would have been impressed by Penny's hoard. $12 in change, all of the spoons, my new keys, my old keys, bottle caps, twist offs, hair ties, etc. Ferrets being ferrets, Penny was pissed when we dismantled her hoard. She was crazy about shiny stuff.

My big Baby is near 14 years old. Found her in -20 weather. She is the sweetest thing! She use to guide my Husky to his food bowl when he was going blind!
2nd cat, Kothalo, was a ferral that showed up here and wouldn't leave. I took pity on her and she became a great addition.
3rd was a 10 year old the Wife's Aunt had and left to us when She pasted. She's amazing us everyday with how well She is adapting here.
I can deal with the shenanigans they pull. Keeps things interesting!

We used to have a very large black tom cat who we took in after he had been running wild. He was always very gentle with humans he knew, wouldn't go anywhere near anyone he didn't know.

One day he came back with a present for us in his mouth, somebodies large ornamental fish. He put it down for me and I managed to grab it and put it in a bowl of water. It was alive and well, completely unmarked, how he had managed to catch it and carry it without a single mark I'll never know. I sheepishly took it round to next door, who I knew kept fish in a pond. They were not sure if it was one of theirs, but they kept it in their pond with the rest. They had cats themselves, so they knew what they can get up to.

Unrelated to cats but a good fish story.

last summer I saw a bald eagle sitting in a cottonwood tree near a new "modern/Contemporary" 3 story house in my neighborhood.
You know the style, the modern look with a deck lounge area and a "water feature."

I watched the bald eagle swoop down, pick up and fly off with a large koi fish from the deck pond "water feature".
If I hadn’t seen it myself I never would have believed it! This happened in the urban jungle of Denver no less. (46th/Sheridan)

Later I’m sure the home owners were looking at the pond and commenting "Didn’t we have 5 fish in here this morning?"

Helpers they are.
