Brocock Sniper XR Vs FX Wildcat

The Brocock Sniper XR and Fx Wildcat in .22 are two guns I have been considering for plinking/pesting, not for bench rest as I have that covered. I like the looks and ergonomics of both guns and know both are from good quality manufactures, just wondered what those that own one thought of it. Maybe something you like better? Any and all thoughts appreciated.

I have the Concept XR in.25,I like it because it is rugged, light and accurate,,,it is not lefty friendly though,I had to put high scope mounts on it to be able to get my left hand to pull the cocking lever, that was not too bad.
I think the new Brococks are built on the same platform, they have adjustable power and many different places to mount "things".

I have a Sniper XR in .22 that is setup for pesting as I have my FT and EFT options covered. I like it in that I when I adjust the power setting for each stage, I can just hold over for the change - which is nice when you don't want to put a pellet through someone's roof!. I have an MTC Viper Connect on it that gives more FOV than a traditional scope which I like (you either love or hate this scope!). It shoots both pellets and slugs well. I have it tuned for the JSB Hades 15.89 pellets which work well on the pests I'm shooting - mostly rabbits and squirrels in my yard. I have a 0db moderator on and it is very backyard friendly at full power and not noticeable on low power! I attach a bipod on the front rail and also shoot it in a Primos tripod and it works well with both. I have the synthetic stock but since BRK will sell a stock by itself, I may get a laminate to go with it (I am also waiting for an XR Magnum in .25 but don't tell the wife!)

I have both, they are both in .22 and are nice rifles to be sure. The Sniper XR is a an overall very good rifle and frankly will perform for most shooters as well as the WIldcat. My Wildcat is an MK2 and is frankly, a smoother, more truck-friendly rifle as even with the longer moderator, is still easy to handle in a vehicle. Both can be used easily with a bipod, both support similar scope set ups and arm/grip sizes. The Wildcat IMO is a little more polished, smoother action and has perhaps a little better trigger. It also gets more shots than the Sniper XR at full power. My cat is tuned for 18.3g JSBs and while the XR will certainly shoot them, prefers the 15g versions. The resale on the Wildcat will be higher as with most FX guns, the demand is higher; but to a new shooter or someone upgrading from the lower-mid or low level PCPs, you won't be disappointed with either rifle. Even shooting them side by side, they are very comparable and provide tons of fun shooting regardless. Until you get out past 100 yards in the field, I doubt you'll see much difference, and then at that point, it's time to do the full upgrade to the big boys.

The Wildcat BT version hands down. My Problem is that once you have been over 80-foot pounds, it's hard to have a gun that only shoots 55-foot pounds in 25cal, especially if you shoot slugs. I'm not saying I don't like the Sniper as a like the one with the folding stock. I almost bought one, but airguns have changed so much in the past 3 years, most of these companies are catching up. I really like the Wildcat BT compact version

The Brocock is great if you are happy with 25 fpe (.22), you will only get above 30fpe with heavy pellets or very high reg pressure. Mine shot 16gr JSB great, but the 18 gr went unstable around 50M. The Wildcat can do 50+ fpe, but my Wildcat suffers from POI shift, and needed a barrel band to be a field carry hunter, whereas the POI is rock solid on the Brocock.

Whichever I choose I will probably only shoot pellets. I have a Impact M3 shooting NSA 31.2 grain slugs @930FPS. Love the gun but it is really set up for bench rest, weighs a ton. Really looking for something I can shoot offhand in competition out to 50 yards against my wife her new (but doesn't know about) Huntsman regulated. If I don't up my game she will definitely kick my butt.

There are many more options than those 2. I have a Mav in 25 and Sniper HR in 22, not exactly but close to your choices. The Brockock is the only PCP I own that has never had any issues, it is also my oldest PCP, it's a tank.

At 50 yds everything I own will shoot tiny groups with the right pellet and tune.

You cannot go wrong with either of these and see you have an I Impact, so you are familiar with the FX adjustability.

2 more to consider are the FX Deamline Compact, and Airmaks Caiman. I own both in 22 and the Caiman is as accurate as anything and I love its size, balance and feel. I have no favorites, I like them all!
