Airacuda updates.

Trueshot,
Congratulations, sounds like things are going well. If possible, share some accuracy results with pellet/distance information. I've resolved a "flyer" and loudness issue from suspected mis-aligned internal baffles. Travis is sending replacements and I'm awaiting 4 different H&N pellet/slug selections to test for best accuracy @ 50 yards. I've experienced pellet spiraling or "corkscrewing" early on and it continues after recent repairs to internal baffles, with or without BuckRail moderator, so let me know if you've noticed the same. Thankfully, gun is "backyard friendly" enough now to use without the moderator so I can eliminate that as a cause for any problem noted. WM

So this was 8:30 at night, I had a flashlight shining on targets! These results are without moderator. 50 yard shots. I am going to go home today after work and try it with moderator after drilling it out. Thank you again.

Don't go 3500 psi !!!
It is beyond the rated fill pressure and foolish to do so or belief those who state it safe and a thing to do
:mad::mad::mad:
Well some folks do know better then the manufacturer engineering guys who designed it..... But then your having to damage your wood stocks anyway for a vent..

Trueshot,
Thanks, exact pellets I'm using. My regulator gauge arrived showing 1900psi, which manual states for .22, hard to adjust regulator exactly, now showing 2200psi, higher than 2100psi, factory for .25, but not unreasonable. Interested in any visual spiraling or "corkscrew" you might see in pellet trajectory, it's not subtle, easily seen in scope. Usually attributed to high pellet speed reacting to a fast barrel imparted spin, not sure why I'm having it, since chronograph shows 863fps for the 25.39 grain JSBs. More testing ahead, WM

Trueshot,
Might seem strange but this is how I check accuracy. Using the round finger hole on the barber scissors and a black Sharpie, I make a sheet of these, tape to cardboard backing and affix to 50-yard backstop. Using one shot per circle, six in a row, majority inside circle, means OK to hunt. My six PCPs have no trouble, not so easy for me. Hope the Max will join up some day. WM

The stock adapter has a void for the vent. If you need one pm me or just clearance the stock at the vent if your having a problem it’s not really a big deal and has only affected a handful of guns out of thousands

No, the adapter does not have a void where the vent is, the vent touches the stock.

No, the the venting issue IS a big deal and will affect all of the guns to some extent.

Absolutely not correct. Will only effect some guns where the inletting is in the way not all guns and its extremely easy to fix in less than 5 minutes.

Travis,

I'm not sure why we are having this conversation, we have spoken in the past about the inletting problem, you took ownership of the issue and made adapters that work fine and keep the magazine slot from closing in and pinching. Win for all!

The adapter block does NOT have a vent slot (mine and others that have posted pictures) nor is the sidewall of the block tall enough to contact the vent hole. Therefore, it CANNOT and DOES NOT have a void as shown in the attached picture.

This is a great time to just say, "OOPS! My bad, its extremely easy to fix in less than 5 minutes with a dremel tool burr inside the stock inletting."

The hole IS drilled at 90° and is venting right into the stock, this is 100% truthful and accurate, it can be displayed o the MAX guns and is completely irrefutable, period.

As I have already explained and you have waited to now to post a reply, the humidity, warp, tooling cut etc. all allow for small changes in how much vent is obscured but in the end all vents are obscured by varying degrees.

Please, lets focus on the fixes and stop the denials, we want to make these great guns but you have to own up and work with us for this to happen

Gentlemen,
I'd like to express my appreciation and gratitude to all who've contributed to this thread, each has given information and support which changed a potential disappointment into triumph. Today, the Max passed the 6 dime-size circle @ 50-yard challenge, earning its rightful place in the collection, an impossibility without your collective help. Initial test groupings were 3 inches, free from flyers or POI shifts, but pellet spiraling noted. Decided to pull stock and back off one turn on Hammer Spring, while doing so noticed small light gray vented air stain right next to hollowed out spot inside stock, seems I was off with my Dremel work. Enlarged void and deepened venting channel. After airing up, returned to target work and discovered amazing accuracy. Decided to try the Dime-Size @ 50 Challenge and she passed! Not sure HS adjustment, fixing flawed Dremel work, or a combination of both, but success, at last. In my opinion, each and every person contributing deserves the credit for not only keeping hope alive but for insightful suggestions. My Deepest Thanks, WM
