I just put it Diana Bullseye zero recoil mount on my HW 80 in hopes that it would solve some of my scope problems. The mount is super sloppy, the scope has a 16th of an inch of side to side and up and down play is this the way they are? Or did I get a bad one?

Yeah that doesn't seem right. I have one on my 56TH and its nowhere near that bad. Where'd you get it from? I've heard there are lots of knockoffs on Amazon so I opted to get mine from Pyramydair to play it safe.

Depends on which version. The original made in Germany mount for 1” tubes was said to have more issues. The newer made in China mount for 30 mm or 1” seems to be better. They can benefit from a little tuning at times. This site and Youtube are your friends, info on how to do it is out there.

I did the same with a Chinese Clone ZR mount. The side screws were giving me a headache until I re-read your thread. That area was very thin and I'm lucky if there's 3/4 to 1/2 thread in there. Genius to use imperial nylon bolt and metric tap (do you remember what size tap and what size bolt?).
I might need to try that trick at a different hole location.
Any issues with the side nylon bolts? How's the mod holding up?
One issue I found was that mechanism tends to bind ...unless you really pay attention to alternately tightening opposite screw mount bolts.... even with that sometimes you can't get enough tension on the screw mount bolts to make the system work without properly securing the scope. I suspect the two rod and/or their holes are not in alignment. Solutions?

Way i looked at it was movement is movement...
I also seen like 2 .. one sold has bullseye printed on it and one has diana printed on it.. maybe old or new item pictures , but? . Still i want to eliminate optic movment causes ... Then thats just me.

Another trick with these mounts. Once you get into position, pull the optic halfway back and release. It'll set it back to its zero position.
I’m lucky. I’ve got them both. 
‘My buddy and I bought the Bullseye. There’s 3 screws to clamp to the 11mm rail. My buddy tightneed his and stripped it. Mine lasted 2 days, same deal. Same screw. They were bought from stores. I was hesitant on getting the Diana. Have had no issues, work great. Crow

Another option is the Sportsmatch Dampa Mount. A lot of people have had good luck with them as well.

I did the same mod but drilled and tapped from the top instead of the sides. I've even used a bundled no name 4x scope on my d48 with no problems.This is an easy mod to eliminate any unwanted slop.

The BKL mounts are outstanding but don't address the issue of transfer of recoil to the scope which I believe is the goal of the OP.

I tried one and stripped mine immediately like crowski and his buddy. No torque specs in the manual. Never could get it to not bind. I used it as the most expensive set line sinker in the world for a summer.

I’ve had my ZR mounts on and off my rifles many, many times and no stripped threads. For the 3 base screws I tighten to only 25 inch pounds.

I’m not a gambler, but I’ll give you 10 to 1 odds uglymike has the same stripped screw. Poor design. I was hesitant on buying the Diana, had no issues, works great. Crow

Not trying to be mean, or onery, although I am onery. Grin!!
Best thing to do with a Diana ZR mount regardless of brand, make or place of purchase is toss it in the nearest dumpster. Then use a good AMX, Vortex or other quality springer rated scope and be done with it.
