Donnyfl moderator recommendations

If you’re not going after high power with your Avenger and you’re going to mostly target shoot, I’d highly recommend a Buckrail moderator. They are 3D printed which makes them somewhat fragile when you compare them to a DonnyFL, but do a great job if you plan on staying under 45FPE. YMMV
Oh - They are very affordable.
If you’ve GOTTA have a DonnyFL, even the Tanto will do a great job. Second choice would be a Tatsu. Third would be a Sumo. Keep your eyes on the classifieds. They pop up every now and then.

I also recommend the Huma-Air Moderators as an alternative to the DonnyFL. If you don't want to order direct from Huma-Air, Trenier Airguns usually haas a pretty good selection in stock. In my experience, the Huma-Air are a bit quieter than the comprably sized DonnyFL. The DFL's are a good quality LDC, but unfortunately, they are getting hard to find!

Would a donny fl tonto be good for hunting purposes?

Dustin there is nothing wrong with the tanto for hunting. The hard part comes when you want to buy one. They are having issues over at their shop, LETS NOT GO DOWN THAT RABBIT HOLE GUYS, but they wont be making them for a while yet. Huma Air has some good units, Huggett has a few good units, as well as Impulse air has two very nice units as well. Most of the recommendations that you will get will be very subjective. As everyone hears how the gun sounds differently. That is why many of us have multiple units and swap them around when needed.

I had a Tanto on my 25 Avenger tuned to low 40s fpe and it quieted it to about 85db according to my meter. It made a huge difference in the noise (it was about 100db before). You might have to go for another brand unless somebody still has some in stock and you buy now. I'm sure others will work but I would stay with the smaller diameter units like the Tanto. You will have to take your moderator off to fill the gun with air if you put on one much bigger in diameter than a Tanto.

ANY of the DFL's will quiet things down, I'm running a Sumo on my .25 Maverick 110 bar, and a Koi on my .22 Maverick 107 bar and...a Impulse with 7 segments on my Sapsan about 115 bar. All are back yard friendly. Buckrail works for some, it didn't for me, sadly. I think he needs a slighly larger diameter to handle a larger caliber or higher pressures. If any of you have had success with Buckrail, I'd like to hear about it.
