Making the move to FX and starting with the Dreamline Tactical. Talk me out of it.

I've got a dreamline lite compact bottle rifle.. how about instead of trying to talk you out of it I just tell ya you will be very happy with a dreamline as long as you can accept that fact it is what it is.. The dreamline is a sweet mid power pellet shooter with good manners.. very accurate and does exactly what it's designed to do. If the goal is to add power upgrades and basically turn it into a high power slugger. Save your coin a bit longer and just buy one of it's FX cousins that's built to do so..

$995

I've seen many posts by Firewalker and the Guns he has played with. Many I thought he was wasting money and time on.
But like me? I do believe he enjoys the tinkering as much as the shooting!
Like me? I do believe he wants to 'Up' his knowledge and move to a higher platform.
I say grab a Dreamline Lite for the adjustable hammer. Then watch for parts to do the Tactical.
Grab some barrels like a 700mm and maybe a Power Plenum or 2.

I would agree on the Dreamlines intended use. Big power its not. I bought mine and quickly realized I had found my paper puncher. Its to this day my favorite gun in my collection to shoot paper with. I also have an M# Sniper .25 that is a pleasure. Between the 2 though, If I'm shooting at 50 to 75 yards, the Dreamilne is my preference. I have the .22 Dreamline Tube edition in a AeronCZ chassis.

This is close to the $1000 max target

Yes, you are correct, I have bought many that I spent an amazing amount of time on and sold them once I got them dialed in.

I am a journey kind of guy, any fool can buy an expensive gun that is perfectly tuned and pull the trigger until it breaks and send it off to be repaired. It takes a special kind of fool to buy a gun that takes many hours to hone and massage until it shoots as well as it will ever shoot. I am that kind of special fool! :p 🤣

You really nailed when you wrote, " I do believe he wants to 'Up' his knowledge and move to a higher platform." One day, when I grow up, I want to be able to work on any air gun and perhaps even tune them for others. I need to pay my dues, learn all I can and apply myself to understand all aspects of air rifles. Well, not springers, "Aint nobody got time fo THAT!".

As always, great advice, practical and spot on.

Firewalker. I started with Hatsan and worked my way up for the very same reason!
Hell. Even was a tester for the DAR before it ever came out.

Were you?

I still love the DAR, a fantastic entry level PCP with outstanding magazines but JTS took that away when the Airacuda MAX came out, IMHO.

I think I will look for a Dreamlite and work up, thank you for the suggestion. I will get to build it to what I want.

For those also encouraging me on, I do understand that this is not a high powered gun, I have a 300fpe .357 that fills that need already. I want to snuggle up to 100yard MOA then look for the next step up after that.

With primers still at $.10 each, looks like I am in the air gun family for the duration so let's roll!

Yeah. Met the owner in California and did a hunt with him one night.
They sent a .25 to me since I like shooting at 75+ yards and other testers were really not reaching out that far.
I shot many testers DAR's from California, Mississippi, and Arizona. In every case I was at thier homes as I traveled alot back then.
