Proposed IL house bill is a direct threat to airgunners

What restrictions are in place/enforced for other airguns? I live in Illinois(and I have a FOID), but I've never run into any troubles with my airguns or buying .22 pellets at Walmart. . .am I missing something/breaking a law?

>.18 airguns are classified as firearms. I think technically you have to transfer them via FFL? You have to transport them the same as any other firearm and you can't lend them to anyone who doesn't have a FOID

So technically if you sold and shipped a .20 pellet rifle from Illinois without going through a FFL dealer then you committed a felony.

Why does pyramyd air ship right to home addresses then?! I'm not complaining-just super confused that a big company would risk that/cause such a potential mess for customers!

Too much info to copy and paste but here is their restriction page. I assume that what they will ship to you is based on your zip code.

But..but, what about all the guys on this forum who say it'll never happen and that those of us who can see into the future based on our own experiences in the restrictive states we live in are merely crying that the sky is falling?

And what about the forum moderators who quickly shut down any talk about the politics of those who live to destroy the shooting sports? We all know who I mean, though I dare not utter the party name.

This type of thing is a byproduct of the notion that we're merely gentlemen shooters who would never be targeted because we use air to power our projectiles.

Do you see what happens when you poke your heads into the sand? Pretty soon the gentlemen shooters become targets themselves.

A lesson learned, perhaps?

I think not.

The naysayers will continue their naysaying and the moderators will continue deleting posts that are the least bit critical of that other party. In the meantime, however, we'll all inch closer to the restrictive policies of Illinois and New Jersey. And as those states go, so will California, New York, Connecticut, Hawaii, etc.

And if I missed some, just look for the blue states, they're the ones that will fall first.

Beer nap - hopefully enough IL airgunners will do more than read about this and actually respond so we don't get saddled with it.
You're making the mistake of thinking that your overlords from that other party actually care about what you think. They don't.

In California, I learned a long time ago that the other party will ignore any phone calls or letters from constituents on the wrong side oft he aisle. Personally, I won't waste time trying to contact them because I think it arouses them to see shooters beg and squirm. I will not give them the satisfaction.

Yongshin - it appears that regulation varies somewhat by jurisdiction, but letter of the law is pretty strict. This law is why it’s so hard already to buy an airgun from Amazon, Walmart, etc. I have been concerned for a while that the airgun FOID law could be used harshly against a kid (or an adult) who didn’t deserve it.

I didn’t really post this to stir controversy so much as to mobilize IL air gunners to see if we can nip it in the bud. Once it gets to a floor vote our odds diminish considerably.

Always remember... You voted for it.

Are you complaining just here or to your state representative? Rallying people around you to do the same? Like me cant help you from here. Maybe get out of the blue and into the red.. you already see nationaly what blue incompetence get ya. ( Just ask them poor folks in ohio) We never had ot so good , right?🤔.

The problem is that airgunners are a very small percentage of the population. It's easy to pass a restrictive law when it doesn't personally affect you at all.
The letters to the people that do the voting need to be filled with something that helps them buy vacation homes, Hawaii trips and add to their net worth.

And most airgunners buy everything with credit cards and PP. Being tracked.
And speaking of credit cards. See photo.

Move. New York got the results of their last census, then claimed to be shocked that over a million people had left the state and well oh my, we just don't understand why they would do that.
Only thing keeping me here is my 86 year old father. When the day comes he's no longer with us, the girlfriend and myself will be finally deciding where we're going to and get out of here before things get even worse.

That is a very complicated discussion but it can be boiled down to two simple points. Control the children's education and you control a countries future. Control the news and you control what the populous believes. Both of those objectives have been completed.
Sadly you are correct.

This is sad...

The problem is that once it's passed and signed there, Cali, New York, NJ and other liberal states will follow suit.

As Heinlein said, "There are two types of people. Those that have the need to control others, and those that have no such interest."

The prospects of a national divorce grow greater with the passage of time. I know many people that have left left-leaning states because they're being remade into something that isn't American.

Good luck,

J~

Tell that to the good people of Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan...
Like them folks flooding out of states to good red states . Why dont you stay there and stand up, vote whatever to make your home better . No lets run away and screw up my life here by dragging that along with you.. people forget or been crt schooled that its we the people not thrm the goverment. You got the power if you use it .. but cowering to them is more prefered today .
