What’s up with the Skout Epoch 🤨

I don’t think skout puts them in the hands of every YouTube personality like some other manufacturers, so we’re waiting on those that have either paid out of pocket for theirs, or have the backing of a dealer that Carrie’s them. That narrows the number of people drastically, and narrows even more those that do YouTube reviews.

The SKOUT II will have Bluetooth connectivity and a “bottle biocam”. Which doesn’t allow a shot if it senses any biological creature in front of muzzle. You leave the gun on the bench set up. Go watch the footfall game. When conditions are “perfect” you get a signal of sorts. Bullseyes! Perfect, one hole groups while sitting on the potty even!🙀😀🙈

P.S. I kid, of course.

I have zero interest in any gun that uses electronics to function. Electronics are not sustainable. Replacement parts will be an issue over time. Of course this issue is the same for machine tools and autos. The end user will always be able to manufacture mechanical parts, but no one can make replacement chips without a working factory.

Kevin gave us his initial impressions here

That’s because the airgun community has got accustomed to glowing reviews of every airgun a YouTuber touches. Not every normal guy jumps on a forum or makes a video to brag about how great his gun is. But most will to bitch about something to either get help or feel the need to warn others. In life we are warned about a woman scorned. In the airgun community, a man scorned is no different.

Has anyone wondered why after a month of release the Skout Epoch hasn’t had any good reviews on YouTube?
I guess I have not seen any bad reviews? Only recall one video of a .30 being too loud. After the Roast that Airfuture received, I would not be surprised if he chooses not share any more video's on AGN.

Yesterday was my first opportunity to shoot a new Vulcan 3 .30 (700mm). After dialing in, accuracy with JSB 44.75 pellets @ 50 yards was stunning, reminiscent of the phenomenal out-of-box performance of the Taipan Veteran .22. Last evening, came across a YouTube of a new Skout Epoch .30 owner who was first timing exact same thing (JSB 44.75@50yds) except no barrel cleaning. Accuracy was OK, but not impressive, owner even commenting it seemed to change as cloud cover (?) came and went over target. Not scientific, by any means, but has me asking, as OP, "What's up with the Skout Epoch?" WM

Head position / Parallax error or Cant will do just that .... again IMO we likely viewed USER ERROR

WM ... you have implied something that has already been stated in Videos on there barrels.
They are made in house made via a proprietary process and microscopically lubricant impregnated being NON conventional and will not be in requirement of frequent cleaning, pre or after use.
Thanks, that I wasn't aware of, just suspected as possible reason for so-so accuracy since owner mentioned no barrel cleaning had been done. WM

I have seen a few videos and seen a couple reviews. Take into consideration that this is not only a new gun, but a new maker that is being debuted and some of the complications may be a bit more understandable.
I don’t have one and have no interest in one, but I hate to see them condemned before they get out of the starting gate.
