Anyone had any luck with using the Classified Ad section to buy or sell? I have a Vintage Co2 pistol I was thinking about selling and I don't like Ebay. What can be expected here?

You have something you don’t want, so you post said item on the website. If you come to an agreement with someone on a price, the person exchanges money for said item and there is shipping, but you get the idea.

Hmm I like most on the AGN bus purchase guns and equipment on our various journey's toward some distant nirvana. Newer projects overtake older ones with their various space occupying acquisitions. One great part of the AGN brotherhood for me is buying or selling these treasures. As we're all moving along from where we began on this wonderful journey just moments ago in time.

The classifieds on Airgunnation is the superstore for all your airgun needs. If you are looking, just post and set back and relax. Chances are very high you will get several hits. Same thing for selling. Hope things work out for you.

I bought my first air gun from the classified section here. At that point I was just looking for something to take care of some pests, nothing more.

I sold my FX Maverick in the classifieds here just recently.
Just communicate with buyer/seller and make sure it is clear who pays shipping, method of payment, etc.

You're asking for opinions about something you'll still be left wondering about, no matter how many respond. It ain't hard to discover the truth(s) for yourself.
Truth is, there's about as much good as bad. Each individual drives his own classifieds experiences.

Personally 1 purchase and 3-4 sales on this forum. Got hit with 2 time wasters, "DEal" "payment is in the mail" "payment came back -in 24hr- will resend" ... ... ... but times have changed.
Over 200 deals on Brad's airgun sit (the oldest) and the 1 purchase and 2 of the sales here were from people I already knew from past deals on brad'
It also seems you will being having to "bump" your post often (buy hey it may sell day 1). It is hard to find new for sale ad's.
TALK on the phone! Any real airguinner, esp. one into "Vintage" will be willing to talk and talk some more about airguns and generally know many others into airguns.
And, dont be surprised that as you are new here with minimum posts and time people WILL want to somehow verify who you are.
Did I mention no matter what telephone conversations are good?

Any item will sell quickly on AGN if priced below market value. I refuse to respond or post to WTB listings. I have only one sale that was shipped. All the other sales were to a local buyer and a new friend.

The classifieds on these forums isn't a bad idea. if you're looking at a gun, you also happen to be in the right place to research stuff about it if you're curious and there's also no fee to list the add, like eBay does.

I suggest you avoid the classifieds… they are “like drugs to an addict” and you may find yourself refreshing the page every 10 minutes (like I do) hoping you don’t miss out on the next killer deal!

So happy to hear all the good things about the classified section. I do custom custom Hydrographics on rifles and parts to sell on Ebay but the 12.9% selling fee is ridiculous. I'll be posting some in the near future. Brand new to AGN. Loving it so far. Amazing dialogue and community interaction
