What happened here?!

Hmm...

I'm guessing it's just the wind or bullet spiralling, I'm leaning towards spiralling, might have been some tiny defect in the skirt of the pellet that caused it.
Then again I don't know if he is shooting pellets or slugs.
My Hatsan Blizs suffer from massive spiralling, pellets fly all over the place with a 1yard/meter spread at 100yards/meters.

I have seen pellets have pretty erratic flight pattern, not least the Beasts trying to shoot those far, so you can have them be like lasers at 50 M, but change aim for 70 - 80 M and its like when they pass the 50 M mark the pellet start to spin / whirl around.

When the sun are just right and you shoot at a darker area it is very noticeable. so it could be they also whirl around at the 50 M target but i just do not notice it as it is a brighter backdrop VS the back corner of the field i shoot to when i max out the distance.

First time i saw it, it was a big WTF moment, and there was no doubt in my mind why i was not hitting anything at the longer distance.

I have also seen some footage on youtube where the pellet just seem to wobble in flight, but what i saw was like a semi opaque metallic disk going off into the distance.
The wobbling pellets i think you need a slow motion camera to capture it.
I think it was in one of Teds videos from way back i saw the wobble, but i cant recall seeing a video with the wildly spinning i saw.

The video of the lucky reptile, the shot seem to drop quite a b it behind it.

Conditions aside, he didn't even blink! talk about a poker face.:)
I've seen several videos of bird pest control where the birds duck causing the shot to miss. They apparently have such high reflexes or view the world in slow motion compared to us that they can see the projectile coming.

Video features pest control so if you can't handle that then don't watch it

Well that's interesting

My thoughts EXACTLY!!
I think I have bought whole tins of pellets like that!!😜
I bought a Zbroia Sapsan over a year ago, thing was dead nuts, LOVED .22 AA 16's, had a regulator problem, a year later they gave me a new one, I'm not mentioning Joes name. The new one HATED AA16's and every darn thing else I put in it, PAID to get my old barrel...SAME darn problem POI looked like a shot gun at 100 yards. Bought some Crosman 14.3 HP pellets, fine tuned the hammer spring for the speed they liked and.....5 shot groups, windy, 31 yards. I just bought 5,000 of them, SHOULD keep me going for a few weeks. Kinda curious to see what they do in my Maverick Compact.

This has got to be the neatest video I’ve seen in a while. Any guesses as to what happened here?

I have never seen it anybody made a video what the pellet/projectile path look like - when the scope is not aligned to the barrel.
From this recording we see the crosshair kind a perfect vertical-horizontal but that could be just a visual effect? An top of this to add a spiralling, and the scifi is there

As an exceresize, loosen the scope and turn it let say some decree, aim at any target under angle but the camera is turned and aligned to the crosshair - the reticle center point is the driver for POA ...
:)
