Talk me out of the Notos

Talk me out of one please. Zero guns in the high end, fancy shmancy range interest me whatsoever which is nice. Having the Evol mini I see no need for another airgun as it fits my needs to a T. Except for one which is a low power, close quarters shooter for in our barn. I used to use my Taipan Veteran short with a speed dial which worked great. I then had issues with the mags advancing on low power. Normal power it did just fine but i wanted it for that low power purpose also so ended up selling it. The Evol would be doable i guess but hate to adjust anything as it shoots so well and having to take it apart to do it is a pain. Ive yet to fill that low power spot which has been, I believe, over a year now. Hard to remember, got 2 kids now my CRS is much worse than before them.

I have a HW30 .177 I use in the barn occasionally which works but a pain with follow up shots as many pigeons can be in there at once. And don't like to get it dirty as it's a very nice gun.

Took a break from here for awhile, keep saying 6-9 months cause not even sure exactly how long but don't care to really look it up. I do have an Airacuda standard .22 that's been sitting for months without a scope in my safe. Got it to review and stole my scope off the Evol. Once I was done playing with it I looked into getting a different scope but never did. Took a 4-5 month break shooting airguns also. Now last month been getting back into it as weather is finally getting nicer. That gun does have a nice power adjuster that would work great for it but is pretty long and much heavier than what the Notos is. Could make it work even though it's length and weight are bigger than wanted for its use, but then I could just get a red dot for it and be done.

Anyways was just curious what cool guns have come up just to look at with no intention on getting anything different. However some Umarex Notos came up? Looked just to see and man I think it would end up filling that spot greatly.

Everywhere it seems to be pre-order though and I don't really want to do that. Should I take it as a sign to stay away?

I got 3 options I guess which none are ideal to me:

1. Adjust Evol in between needs for it

2. Get red dot for Airacuda and live with the large size

3. Pre-order Notos

OK, dont get a Notos.

Don't have Mike print a moderator for it so you drop the sound output to 64dB.

Don't enjoy a good barrel and a light weight gun, just walk away. ;)

You actually do get what you pay for. Fred Flintstone designed the trigger. No cheek riser on the butt stock. Even with tall scope rings it's difficult to get a good sight picture without parallax. Other than that it's made from the finest Chinesium known to the airgun world.

Sorry, I haven't been following much the Notos threads. I thought the factory moderator was not removavle. What am I missing.?
Peter designed a moderator that is longer than the baffle insert that comes with the Notos. You remove the 2 pins that hold the end cap on the can, remove the inards and then drop in Peter's design, printed by Mike and you drop the sound level by close to 20db! You can see the extension in the picture above.

I am confused. In your post earlier you said Mike, now Peter. What is the handle name of the guy that prints them? And does it affect accuracy at all?

I would buy one if I didn't already have a Prod. I fill mine to 2600 psi, shoot 2 mags at 14 fpe, and it pretends it's regulated. I've got one of Froggy's carbon fiber ldcs on it and I'm pretty sure it's less than 70 dB. It's not pellet fussy and and has a pretty decent trigger. I'm not sure how much Prods sell for used but if I could get one close the the same price as the Notos I would probably lean Prod again.

Crosman 1720, 1701 make for great pesting close quarters. I know they are ss which makes follow up a bit fiddly.
