Brand new M3 with good 1st regulator

Today a user brought his brand new M3 just to show me and inspect it.

The 1st regulator of this M3 is working great. Quick recovery and very nominal creep. Creep might get better as it will brake in.

Looks like perhaps FX has made some improvements to new 1st regulators of M3 guns.

Let's see through the test of time.

Or they just got lucky.

I don’t get why there is this supposed wide spread issue. Aren’t all the regs the same? Wouldn’t this plague all their guns dual, single or whatever??
My uneducated guess, is the Belleville stacks vary. A .42 avg. stack is 100 bar max, .48 is 75-125, .53 is 117 bar MINIMUM. Unless they get precisely the same thickness on every washer every time you'll have variation. Throw in some variations on the overall height of the piston and you've tossed in another variable. I'm almost thinking that the Lane regs may work better, coil springs, but, in my case, they don't make them for Mavericks.

I understand that the platforms like Impact have the inherent capability of evolution towards betterment.

Further members would have noticed that some after market part companies started offering the bottle adapter to delete the 1st regulator.

When we enter into achieving competition level of accuracy then every little thing matters.

I have been handling and fixing the issues on such M3 which came to me with such issues.

But we should not forget that only that person complains who gets a lemon and the rest which are in majority do not speak.

So discussing any matter doesn't mean that every gun has that issue.

Here we just try to share and learn.

Further in case of any issues FX is always there to help you out.

Am I right?

I've got a brand new M3...."nvr been shoot by me or even out of the house...1st reg is blowin bubbles.....I've heard that 1st reg is a bear to break loose.....Any one taken theres out...& how bad was it.....I've watched the vids, but usually.....its mentioned..they broke theres loose earlier for the ease in the vid......I'm thinkn they don't want you to see the 5' breaker bar they use to break it loose....LOL

With the first reg my experience hàs been once you change out the plastic piston and go to the brass piston most of the problems go away thinking the plastic changes to much wether it's hot out side or cold and washer stack gets bound up I don't know for sure just my thoughts on it
thanks AGM.........mines blowin bubbles out the weep hole...thinkn about the Huma upgrade as it appears this is an on goin problem with fx's regs....my Maverick is ROCK SOLID & unbelievably accurate....(thanks to Ken Hicks}...not a single problem ...the wildcats the same way.....think ill go with the upgrade Huma..was just concerned about how much force is required to break it loose....withOUT breaking it...lol...thnx for the reply

I upgraded my amp mk2 to a brass piston and it's been good all I did was shoot fx a email and they sent me some under warranty for a friend's M3 I replaced. To be honest I don't remember how hard it came off I know I didn't use a cheater pipe on the ratchet just regular length 1/2 inch ratchet with the correct socket and put the gun in a soft jawed vise if it doesn't come loose easily smack the end of the ratchet handle with your palm to break it free

If it's got an AMP reg, the bottom o-ring on the adjustor is bad, 5 min fix.
