Poi changes at different distance

Hello airgunners hope y'all doing great i have a problem I could not solve i have the FX impact M3 .22 there is something wrong the gun, scope, rings, whatever point of impact changes with different distances 30 yard zero is 11 click right at a 100 yard my groups is great 1 inch at a 100 and one hole 0-50 yards i change the scope ring many times i took the gun apart and align the rail and the scope rail using by millimeter changed ammo changed shooting speed the problem is still there the only thing i didn't change is the scope and the gun i will contact vortex and fx after posting this i know there is something not aligned correctly the gun or the scope help me please 😭😭😭

Note there is no wind test was done in closed range

Do a search on here for scope cant and leveling. Anything by Nervous Trigger is gold. It solved my issues. Basically you need to get a scope level that goes on the scope not the rails. Then hang a plumb Bob out whatever distance (further better?) and level the vertical cross hair with the Bob string. Then make the level read level and lock it down while you're plumb. Okay now your scope crosshairs will be level whenever your level says level. That's issue #1.
Step 2 to fix issue 2 is your vertical cross hair isn't in line with your barrel. This was weird the first time I read it but it makes total sense now I've done it. Okay get a mirror and put it 10 yards away from you aiming at it with your gun so you see yourself through the scope. Adjust parallax to 20 yards. With your scope ring screws loose, what you do is put the cross hair dead center up down left right of your objective lens in the reflection on the mirror. Then notice how the vertical hair will be off from the center of your muzzle hole. Okay rotate the scope until the vertical cross hair cuts the muzzle down the center (while you still aim dead center at your objective lense thru the mirror) and then tighten down your rings. Boom you just leveled your scope! Now whenever you take a shot you check your level for level which makes you cant the whole rifle so it is level and then your scope will be directly above your muzzle and any windage adjustments will stay true out to whatever yardage (assuming no wind of course). Pellet will drop at different distance but it should "ride the line" of your vertical cross hair the whole way there now, no side to side shift from your scope being canted and unlevel anymore.

All credit to Nervous Trigger not my ideas. But they work!

Let me see if I'm understanding this-you're zeroed and hitting your aim point at 30 yards. When you shoot at 100 you're 11 clicks to the right? If this is the situation it sounds like the scope is canted (tilted) in the rings so that the vertical in the reticle (crosshair) is not lined up with the bore of the gun. You can check this by looking into a mirror through your scope-if the vertical line in the scope doesn't line up the bore the scope needs to be rotated in the rings.

Its the windage not the elevation but for elevation i use the hold over
Got it, I understand the discrepancy relates to the windage but I needed to know if the erector tube / reticle was being moved (dialing the turret when shooting at longer distance) or remaining stationary. Since it's the latter, it means the issue was related to cant error. There is no mechanism by which it can be the fault of the scope itself when the reticle is remaining stationary and the 100yd aim point is one of reticle's subtensions. The problem went away when you swapped scopes as a happy coincidence, misleading you to conclude the problem is with the original scope.

If you want to describe your scope mounting regimen and how you hold the gun level when shooting, I think we can get to the bottom of it to hopefully avoid this frustrating issue in the future.

Check for a bent barrel and/or a bent shroud. I had a rifle when zero at 30m shot to the right at 50m and further. Then zero at 50m and then it shot to the left at 30m.
After a long search and many scopes and mounts, I discovered that the shroud was bent (To the right). I then indexed the shroud to shoot upwards and it shot strait.
Until I could find a new shroud then the problem was solved.

Thank you for this post , that just seems so wild to me! I never would have thought to do this. I have to admit, I am a "butcher" when it comes to scope mounting. Its all by eye with make shift levels and then i dont even torque the rings down, just good and tight. Maybe I could be a phenomenal shooter if I do things the right way?

Update i borrow my friend scope mounted on my FX and my problem is gone 10 yard zero is still zero at 75 yard i guess my scope windage is off will call vortex and get it fixed or replaced thank

Thanks Emptytin_Tim. 👍

It certainly helped me out to mount the scope the correct way!! But again, all credit to @nervoustrig for his help in explaining it all in previous threads and i just copied and relayed the info here. Nervous sure knows his stuff!!

Thanks to @EmptyTin_Tim for the endorsement and summary of how to eliminate cant error. If anyone is interested in reviewing my description, here is a link to a prior topic that covers it:
