Piece of history from Midwest Airgun Show HW30

GREAT find! I might disagree about the "specialness" of it, LOL - that light action is soooo easy to carry and perfectly balanced in that classically German slender finger-groove furniture. The later R7-ish evolution of the HW 30 is very nice of course, but makes it a significantly heavier, more tail-heavy rifle.

If I'd been there and seen it first...I woulda bought in a New York minute.

Nice find. Very cool box too. I got few guns that were purchased from Air Rifle Headquarters by the original owners, I have bunch of receipts and an old blank order form, from ARH that came with them.

so did i , early bird ticket is worth it !

My first springer came from ARH. I only found out about Beeman later on. My FWB 124D was bought by mail order in the spring of 1979. Serial number 18866. It is at Motorhead's getting its second rebuild. Maccari spring and tune.

That's really why I always get a "dealer" table! Well that and having a guaranteed chair for the day, ha.

Your HW30 is super cool, and the box as well, in its own right.
I would not have left it lay for that price either.

HW35 in .177 serial # puts it at 1970-1971.

I love that classic stock with the finger grooves and rounded pistol grip. For 200 bucks I would have jumped on that too.
Let us know how it shoots.

Don't get any better than that , Bayern stock, fluted forend and sights.

I was completely chuffed that it came complete with the correct match sights. The 13mm rear match sights are somewhat spendy when you encounter a loose one these days.

I thought that I got a fair deal, but the OPs HW30 was the deal of the day, no question.

That is a tidy looking rifle. The scope size is spot on IMO.

Back again, can't get over this fine looking gem...some day maybe...do have a 50 from that time period.
