Traditional Rifle Classic Marksman Model 70 (Pre- Beeman R10) 360.00 shipped

Classic Marksman Model 70 (Pre- Beeman R10) .177. Little bit of an odd duck as far as Marksman airguns go. As per Tom Gaylord from his great blog ( May 24, 2021) on the model 70. "On page 716 of the current edition of the Blue Book of Airguns, it says that many of the airguns that Marksman imported from Milbro, BSA, Diana and Weihrauch are not marked with the Marksman name. Well, this one is. On the left side of the base block it says MARKSMAN, MOD 70, Cal 5.5 mm / .22″. Under that there are two pellets shown — a pointed pellet and a wadcutter". And as per Mike Driskills input on this model "Marksman Model 70, this air rifle is seldom seen and as everyone knows there is a very convoluted history on how this air rifle came into existence".
This gun is serial numbered is 73 more than the gun Tom Gaylord uses in his blog. It has the side thumb safety lever and the Weihrauch "Perfekt" trigger. The metal is very nice except for the top of the scope rail. The stock has some use marks as shown. The checkering is hand cut. Gun is marked Marksman as the one in Tom Gaylord's blog. This is a substantial solid air rifle from the modern golden age of airguns. ---------------------
