Hey everyone
I just wanted to give a shoutout to central ohio airgunners and especially Ryan S. I found them on FB. They were helpful and answered some questions. They let me know they had a shoot going on Sunday and encouraged me to come to it.
I decided to go. When I got there Eric was there and was very welcoming. Others arrived a bit later and they too were very welcoming to this newbie. They answered questions and gave advice. Ryan S arrived and was very helpful. He showed me a few of his rifles. He even let me shoot his new avenge x in wood stock.
Then Ryan asked if I was doing anything and if I had time to stay for the shoot and asked if I wanted to shoot. That he would let be use a rifle to shoot with. I was hesitant but man y members encouraged me to participate. I've never seen a competitive shoot before let alone participate. Its been 5 years since Ive shot anything. I had no idea what I was getting into but everyone was patient and helpful. It was a hunter series. I started to get into a rhythm. I finished with a 31 and shot 2/4 on each of the standing and kneeling targets.
I was amazed at the quietness of it and how much I really enjoyed that. Whiles sometimes the noise and recoil of firearms can be fun, I found the silence and interactions with others throughout the day far more enjoyable.
All in all it was a very fun day. The hospitality was amazing. The only problem is that i now have more things on my wish list.
