N/A What PCP Rifle To Get? (powerfull, semiauto, reliable)

Hi guys, i need some help please.

have been looking around now for weeks to see what pcp rifle to get. Main goal is to have some fun with it, but in case the zombie apocalypse comes, il be ready!

Ideally its semi auto, high power and reliable.

I have been looking at the leshiy 2 9mm, AEA Terminator / S45, Some of the huben rifles etc.

i also live in the EU so need to be able to buy it here, seen a few nice rifles that only seem to be available in the USA.

im kind of thinking about the leshiy, but the price is insane at lik 4.2k.

any ideas welcome guys! thanks for the help.

Whats your budget? What are you planning to fill it with? Getting started there is alot of things you need to consider and get. Optics are a big consideration too.

Define "fun" fun is different for everyone. Some find punching paper fun. Some find plinking fun. Some find field target fun. Some find hunting fun.

If you set on semi automatic your options will be limited and generally you are going to have to spend alot more. A benjamin marauder would be an entry level semi.

If you aren't set on semi, an avenge x is proving to be a decent entry Pcp.

Sadly its difficult to know whats available in the EU without being there. Do search for online shops in your area, and ideally a retail shop to go in, talk to and handle various guns.

I went to a shooting range that was holding a field target match. After that my focus totally shifted and I added 177 caliber which i had dismissed before.

at least close to the 200 joules range... where i think i can get the leshiy 2... and i should get at least 2-3 mags out of 1 filling :D
dont want a 2-3 shot monster.

i mean im close to spending 4300€for the leshiy 2 9mm... so anything close to that is ok.
Not a complete list but these are the numbers from my Leshiy 2 -450mm .357 with Raptor valve.
But it’s perfect for what I use it for. Compact and quiet with the behemoth mod

im about to spend 4.300€ on a leshiy, so do want something high quality !

have a look through this thread. Also if youve not tried it, try the search feature here as it could help.

Being new to pcp's I would be VERY careful on spending that kind of money without being fully sure what you want/like. That could change the more you delve into the hobby and the closer you get to getting an airgun. Try to find a field or club nearby to talk with the experienced members and see their setups.

yes, i mean keep it legal, when the zombies come no one will care!
He-he, get a crossbow ;) A wound channel from a 7/8" broadhead is not comparable to what a light slug can do. Also crossbow's average fire rate over a longer period of time seems to be higher than a larger caliber PCP may have. Also more accurate out of the box. And can reuse bolts.

I have a couple of crossbows, one is RX Cobra with magazine. It is the zombie apocalypse weapon. The other is legal to hunt with any big game in North America. It reliably places head shots at 70+ yards and penetrates 1.5 mm stainless steel and Class IIIa body armor.

Actually get both PCP/crossbow :)

Effective fire rate at full power is like 15-20 rounds an hour: 4-5 slugs then 15-20 minutes waiting on an electric pump. Hand pump would be even more terrible. With a single shot crossbow I could dispatch a bolt every 30 seconds without much hassle, until zombies or bolts run out ;)

My cheap big bore AEA had a badly bent barrel. I've got a replacement, but it is still bent. The slugs don't fly straight, you sight your rifle in at 50 yards and can't even hit a 19x25" target at 100 yards: https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/shot-my-510-challenger-bullpup.1297761/#post-1575731 Something unimaginable with a crossbow. With a properly set crossbow-specific scope, a bolt flies at where you've sent it. At 100 yards it lacks any penetration power, but it still places a head shot (hits a 12"x12" target).

Those .50+ cal PCPs are immensely more powerful than any hand held crossbow can ever be and are fun to shoot, but they come with their own set of issues as it seems. If I have to decide the only survival weapon I may possess and I'm not allowed to have any firearms, my choice would be a single-shot crossbow.

oh that aea stuff sounds bad damm... i was thinking about the air issue. i would carry a small bottle with my on my back with a extra 1liter. with the eazy fill from leshiy i can fill that up in seconds... and then at home have 2-3 scoober tanks :D

il have a think again about crossbow. thanks buddy.
