RIFLE CAMO

I do pesting at a maple syrup farm. I have found if I camo up I have much better results. My rifle is factory black barrel FX Crown with grey laminate stock.
I wanted to break up the barrel profile. I don’t know if it will help but want to try.
I don’t want to paint the rifle because I never hold on to anything very long and anything you do to alter the rifle can affect resale value.
A couple weeks ago I ordered a camo net from a place called Temu. $12 for a 6.6’ x 9.8’ piece.
I trimmed off a strip about 1’ wide x 6.6’ long. I then slid it on the barrel, alternating every other hole. I started about 10” in from the end of the net so that the 10” portion could be threaded onto the objective lens and then anchor on the three scope knobs. I’ll put a small piece of camo tape at muzzle to anchor it in place or use a rubber band around moderator.
I think it does an excellent job of breaking up barrel profile.
To try out my camo theory, sans rifle, yesterday I sat in my turkey hunting chair and ghillie suit 8’ from the bird feeder in our backyard. Within 2 minutes two chipmunks were feeding on sunflower seeds 6’ away from me. Within 10 minutes a squirrel and 4 birds were within 5’ of me completely unaware of my presence. A pistol with iron sights would have been perfect.

Great idea, might have to add it to my camo tape I already have on my backyard sniper. Can never have enough camo right? Also need to remind myself to order camo underwear along with the camo net.
Camo underwear. Yeah, that’s one of my pet peeves. Kuiu and Sitka sell ridiculously priced camo underwear. I have never myself worn or have seen a hunter walk around in the woods in underwear.

I re-did my camo for my Crown.
I had a camo cotton long dleeve tee shirt. I have a couple of them so I took one and slod the barrel through the neck hole and then into the sleeve till the muzzle came to the end of the sleeve cuff. I put a rubber band on the cuff just back from the muzzle a bit. I lightly, temporarily wrapped som string around the barrel up to where the scope overhangs the barrel.
I cut a small slit in the shirt so I could stretch it over the scope objective lens. I then draped the rest of the shirt material over most of the scope and trimmed away what I didn’t want.
I then took about an 8 foot length of soft twine I bought at Hobby Lobby and starting in the middle of the string made an overhand knot snd secured it tight at the muzzle. I then took each strand and in opposite directions started criss crossing the string all the way to the scope and tied it off.
I also bought a length of fake English Ivy and attached it to the bottow to help brake up the cammo stick. I would have liked to wrap it around the barrel but the leaves were interferring with the scopes view.

I was just about to make a post about camo options myself

I have an Edgun Lelya that has such a nice stock I wanted to get something to protect it, and allow me to take it in the woods with peace of mind, while doing a nice job concealing it

I don't want a "permanent" wrap, or something that is like vinyl or hard to remove, I've used camo type fabrics before like this:

But I want to see what other option are available...I also like the look of camo nets and leaves/forestry that can be mixed in, but don't want to get too much of an airsoft vibe with anything that has an obvious plastic or fake look

Yeah, that looks like that stretchy camo tape. That could work good along with some fake foliage added as you wrap the barrel.
I don’t know how effective a cylindrical camo tube works. Straight tubular objects don’t exist in nature. Adding some leaves and maybe grass and stuff to break up the barrel sleeve.
All n’ all, is it necessary ? Maybe not. Typically you would think all your prey sees is the muzzle, but as you swing your gun around from in your lap or other position it might get you busted.
I have started throwing a camo net over my boonie hat and drape it over my shoulders to break up my form. It seems to work well for my pesting permission.
