That's why the EU model is a higher price than the usa model I guess. Any one know of any other differences?
Yes, the mag release. In this iteration, the lever moves downward whereas the 1st & possibly the 2nd batch it moves upward. This was done for left handed shooters. I kind of like it out of the way in the new version, but hard to tell if it might be a bit cumbersome to unlatch the mag with the lever located in a fairly tight spot between the gauge and mag.

Also, to the best of my knowledge, those of us in the 1st run never got the barrel adapter that was supposed to be included to facilitate the use of a mod.

I completely dislike the new pseudo carbon fiber pattern.

Someone on the board here said (paraphrase) that one of the Huben moderator's sucks and apparently does little to nothing to tame the db's. FD, I'm just repeating what I read and don't personally know this for fact, but his assessment seemed genuine and honest.

All I know is that the EU got the moderator adapter in the box, while the americans had to get one seperately for the first 1 or 2 batches. Not sure if that's still the case now?

Other than that it seems the higher price is just an import thing or something.
True. However, the word I received was that it was supposed to be "included", but that something happened with the finishing of it and they forgot to include the adapters in the first batch. I was informed that the missing adapters will be sent with the 2nd batch and then dispersed. But I'm not holding my breath for that to occur. For it seems the issue is sort out sight, out of mind and not really mentioned any by any of the dealers.

AVS will start shipping to Europe in februari 2024 they say.

Crazy we don't have heavy (over 40 grain) .254 hp slugs here in Europe and we need to get them out of the US...

Unless someone tells me where to get +40 grain .254 hp slugs in the EU.
The heaviest .254 ones i can find are Nielsen 38.5gr at Krale.
Check out the Altaros purchase website at https://www.militaryairgun.com

They carry 51 grains in .254, etc. Their actual website is found at https://www.altaros.cz

I reported that and it is true if dry firing, but amazingly, when firing pellets, it works very well. At the time of wring that first comment, I had not shot a pellet. I find that behavior strange, but I can live with it. The Hush mod as it is called, really quiets the bark very well and it weighs only 56 grams. You don't even know it is there when mounted.

I am confused on your magazine lever comment. I think the US and European model are the same. On the one I just received from Spain, you lift the lever to disengage to load and lower to reengage to shoot.

Outside maximum power levels, I don't believe Huben differentiates their GK1's as either a European or U.S. models. What I'm referring to, as I descriptively mentioned above, in slightly different terms, the 1st iterations' mag release interfered with the grip of left handed shooters. So, after some lefty's apparently brought this to their attention, Huben modified the lever to acquiesce to our southpaw brethren of the orthodox challenged. Please see attached pics that juxtapose the differences. 1st pic is [supposed] new design to accomodate lefty's and possibly, but don't know for certain, how all future iterations will be. The 2nd pic was from 1st batch, I believe mostly shipped to U.S. buyers. Please note the green arrow that points to the levers' grippy ridges positions' and how lever on left requires a downward delatching of the mag, whereas the other is opposite or upward. Hope this clears up any confusion...

I sort of like the newer model that has the lever tucked in between the gauge and mag. It seems more out of the way with less chance of something accidently catching onto the lever in the downward orientation that protrudes out a good half inch. Just unsure if pulling the lever down will be a challenge where it's affixed.

Got my GK1 today!!
Also did a little modification to get it in the case with a red dot on it.

I have the exact same red dot which I currently use on my Weihrauch HW44 (with a picatinny mount). May I please ask what kind of plate you have bought to mount the holosun red dot on your GK1 ? I think I need a dovetail adapter of some sort but I'm not sure what I should get. Thanks in advance :)

You can choose from a 4 or 9 slot. I made a mistake getting the 9 slot when the 4 slot would have sufficed. Nonetheless, the 9 slot works just fine, "IF" you use place the optics' pic mount in the middle of the rail adapter. For if you mount it on the far end or close to the last slot, it may not have enough pinch strength to keep the adapter tight on the dovetail, and will slide about. Whereas, if you use the 4 slot or shorter rail adapter, it will more evenly cinch onto the dovetail section.

I got the cheap split 4 slot picatinny from Amazon and the holosun plate from Eurooptic. It was only like $30-40 for both plus shipping IIRC

I believe his post it said “sounded the same dry firing with it without” or something like that. I just received mine from Spain, with Huben moderator, yesterday and it is loud dry firing. But when shooting pellets it’s VERY effective. Considering now that I turned it up it’s about as loud as a .22 RF pistol.

Can you explain the issue you mentioned about dry firing?TIA

I just recharged the GK1 to 290 bar. I then loaded it with JSB 25.4 gr pellets. My Crono registered 345 m/sec or 1132 ft/sec for 72.4 ft/pounds or 98 joules. I only have one chronograph, but it has always been spot on in the past............. unbelievable!!

Dry firing is pulling the trigger without a loaded pellet, just air. When doing this, the report is just as loud as not having any moderator mounted. However, once a pellet is used, the report is much quieter. It is only then the Hush moderator reduces sound and it does that very well.

Is yours .22? I got some of the 25 grain edgun pellets and it also likes AA 18 grains too.
I didn’t get a chance to Chrony mine last night. I turned mine (.22 cal) out like 1.75 turns and sighted it in with red dot. I’m really happy with the results. At 20 yards shooting off cross sticks it turned into a ragged hole. I was expecting it to be heavier but I was surprised at how well it holds and balances. I also got a new mould from M&P yesterday too. Didn’t get any time to cast but this thing EATS AMMO. Lol!

TY- I thought it had an issue with damaging when dry firing.

Guys I have a question... my gun came with a thread thingy at the end of the barrel, protected by a cap. The shop from spain (Wolfiek) claims that if I get a moderator for the GK1 (1/2 UNF) I also need to get a GK1 adapter. But do I really? What is that threading adapter I got with the GK1 if not 1/2 UNF already?
They might have thought you had the first batch. If you have a thread coming out of the barrel then you can attach a moderator. HTH
