FX FX CROWN with short 380 mm barrel? 22, 25, or 30?

Here you go… some sweet Crowns…

a little shorter than a 380 lol . It is a dreamline ul barrel . I use mine at 50 and under mainly . Optic has been up graded now . ;):coffee:

22 cal, Mk1 Continuum. VERY handy in the brush. Still does 960fps with 16gr pellets on an efficient tune. Normally use a single shot tray, but use a hatsan 12 shot mag while hunting. Not a perfect fit, but this means I can lean it way over on it's side so it'll fit under the low scope. Works flawlessly. 🤷‍♂️

My .22 cal MK2 Crown came with a 600 mm barrel. While it shot well, it was way too long and looked like a pogo stick. I put a 380 barrel on it and it's perfect. I can get all the power and accuracy I need. I shoots JSB 18.1s at 910 fps. I can push it harder, but then the shot count falls off as well as accuracy.

So far, everyone that responded, has shown 22's calibers....

Am I correct in thinking that a 25 or 30 caliber with a 380mm barrel, would not be effective?
They are. Personally. I would get a 500mm 25 cal barrel. Or 600mm 30 cal. 380mm 25 is going to shoot in mid 800s fps and30 in low 800s. Which is plenty effective. But my preference is to be 900 plus capable on a full size rifle.

I really feel in love with this .25 Crown 380mm setup. It really loves the 25.4gr @ 865-875.

I recently added a 500mm setup for shooting 34gr. Just not enough power to run them effectively with the 380mm and it’s a nice compromise in length. I wanted to take advantage of the superior BC of the 34gr out at 100yds.
I’ve got some of the new 29gr JTS on the way for testing. I’m thinking the short barrel should be able to get them up around 860fps. Not sure of their BC but hopefully it’s a little better than the 25.4gr.
For small game season the .25 380mm/25.4 is sheer bliss in the woods.

5 shot groups @ 50yds 25.4gr.
