I am looking at this compressor for mainly filling large carbon fiber bottles (topping them off mostly) and occasionally filling guns. Is this compressor up to the task? Or should I get the omega supercharger? I live in PA, which has to be the worst place on the planet for humidity. I have a filter system from when I had a YH that I will be using to help with moisture. Thank you in advance.

@Gutterguy I think you’ll find your questions answered in similar threads in this forum. It seems that the answer is yes you can top off larger (60 minute) SCBA tanks with a CS4. I’ve read of a member saying that he can fill guns with his CS4 as well. Some say that the Omega and CS4 are very similar. Read through the threads for more details.

I fill my gun AND top off my 9L/88cuft tank as well. The CS4 does a great job. I have also filled the 9L tank from empty to 310 bar.

Its rated to fill empty 6.8 L and has a 5 hr run time.
As above poster filled a 9 L. No doubt in my mind its up to it.
Have filled from empty 3 L and many guns with ease . As i type this
waiting on UPS to deliver a Acecare 6.8 l and will be filling it tomorrow.

Yes, it will fill great white tanks. 96 cu ft. But it will take some time and most likely add an in line moisture separator.
I have one and it's been perfect for my purposes. I have SCBA tanks and have filled them from empty with it, but I find it most convenient to just fill the guns directly from the compressor.
The biggest and hungriest PCP I have however is a .30 Sidewinder and all my other PCP's are .25 and under, so it would take me awhile to go through a full SCBA tank if I didn't have a compressor. I do a lot of shooting, but most of that shooting is done with springers or with smaller caliber PCP's. If you're like me, then the GX CS4 is probably a great choice for you. If you're doing a lot of shooting with big bores on the other hand then you'll probably want a more powerful compressor.

Sounds exactly like my Omegas. Nothing to worry about. When the pitch changes add some grease.

ANY of the sealed units are for filling small bottles and not large tanks, yes it will do so but shortens the life of the unit. I have 2 Tuxing compressors and yes, I have had my bouts with the company but, I'm over it,lol for the money there hard to beat. the one the left I have had for 3 years and have filled my 6.8-liter tank 100's of times at least. i just put a rebuild kit in it last fall and it's still going Strong! I keep the oil fresh and in the cooler, I use 3-4gal water and frozen blocks of ice to keep the temp down, 130 temp. Heat and oil break down are the number 1 killer of high-pressure compressors.

Mine has about 13 hrs on it and it does knock and click. I’ve turned the grease screw twice. Just follow the instructions. Be sure to not grease it too often and clean the check valve every 8-10 hrs. It’s a little ball and spring under the blow out disk holder. Use a q tip and clean the orifice.
