Do you leave the bleed screw on your fill station open or closed when not in use?

On my Stikman I leave the bleed screw open after a fill. And the valve on my SCBA is closed tight after said fill. Isn’t that the procedure?

Close tank valve…

Open bleed screw to “bleed” air…

Disconnect probe from gun…

So the final step concludes with an “opened” bleed screw.

If it can come off like mine, I close it. A loose one will ruin a outing if it falls off and you can't find it. No big deal at home but when transporting, tighten it. Air will escape from the hose outlet if you had a leak anyways. But I take the hose off of mine. Maybe I should put a cap on to keep dirt out.

I always leave mine open so any water inside may evaporate.

I leave mine half turn out from tight for the main reason that I don’t want the inner seal to take a set and each time you have to keep turning it tighter in order for it not to leak. Preventive maintenance you can call it

Open, cause that's the last action I did to remove the gun. Bleed valve open to release pressure, remove gun, walk away... welcome to ADHD.

On 1 I leave it open but the other I leave closed with a plug.

Leave open slightly to prevent the bleed valve from setting closed.Trust me you’ll know it’s open when you fill your rifle…

On the stickman it’s left open because I bled it to remove fill hose
