Following are Chairgun parameters for my pellets cast in tin, with some commercial unleaded pellets for comparison. Weights in grains are either published for the product or weighed by me. BCs are either published or a best-guess based on the published BC for the lead version, reduced proportionally by the loss in weight when cast in tin.
I think it only makes sense to cast if there is nothing available in the desired caliber (ie. over .25), or for some reason one needs more weight/BC per caliber, such as the .22 boat tail slug. I haven't found that my cast pellets don't shoot better than commercial, but can shoot as well in higher weights at further distances as commercial, say, .25 Baracuda Green or GTOs. I can cast heavier projectiles, closer to lead weights. I couldn't get the .25 wadcutters to group at all, so that mold went to an AN member to try. I'm sure I'll eventually sell off the molds that I don't use much. But I'm finding it a fun hobby.
