I'm looking to try to hot rod a Texan .457 because I love airguns and Quigley Down Under lol. In all seriousness, I love tinkering with things like this and I have a bit of a mad scientist idea. I emailed the guy who runs African Air Ordnance and he did confirm that his valve can handle 5500 psi. The problem is that I can't find any air tanks or bottles smaller than like four or five liters. Could anybody offer some input or maybe some leads on where I could source something like this? Thanks everyone.

Careful! So the valve can handle it. Nice, but, AF did not design the rifle for that pressure.
Small tank nope, Large Nitrogen tank do come in 6,000psi.

Luckily the AAO kit comes with high strength chamber, hammer, and hammer spring upgrades.
Yes all the newer Scott 5.5 SCBA tanks are designed for 5500 psi..I have the biggest one....Aqua Environmental regulator good for over 6000 psi..6000psi gauges were cheap on eBay under $20....That's awesome you got the AOA upgrade
....Those big slugs are .510 640 grain spire point boat tails..Powder coated .5 B.C.....With the upgrade kit over 900 fps with those big slugs

You just tether to your existing bottle or tube....So 5500 psi in SCBA tank adjust regulator to said psi say 4500 psi and you have constant psi for say 10-30 shots depending on tank size... I bought the 5500 psi tank ,regulator, and gauges..Just haven't had more finances to throw at sadly

See, I like this idea for extended shooting, but what I want to do is a bit more ridiculous. I want to strap a 5500 tank directly to the AAO valve so that the first few shots are using 5200 psi plus. I'm curious if I can get some 525 .457s to around the sound barrier. The main issue I'm running into is that the scott 30 minute 5500 tank is still ridiculously large despite being the smallest reservoir I can find. Im still tempted to try it with the 30 minute and just shoot the thing like some unholy jezzail monstrosity lol.

You want A small .5 L bottle at 5500psi... It might be easier finding a air cylinder at 6000psi...a tube with M18x1.5 threads .

Okay. And then the tether should equalize the pressure across the whole system at a stable 5100 or so. I think i see it now.

That regulator is NOT ment for 5500 psi working pressure and bad things are in its future . True 6000 or 5500 psi regs would have at least a 10000 psi inlet and outlet gauges . That reg should not be used above 300 bar 4350psi
