Looking for information about an inexpensive scope to use on Cometa gas ram rifle. I’m hoping that a Hawke Vantage scope would work or may some other similar priced scope. Any first hand advice would be greatly appreciated. Charles

I just put one of these on my HW 90. It has eaten every scope I have put on it except this one. Great scope, cheap and will withstand the shock of a Gas Ram.

CenterPoint 3-9x40AO came from factory on 2018 Benjamin Trail NP XL .22. Flawless performance and impressive optics for this value-priced scope, so far. WM

ALWAYS ask the maker, they are the ones who know and will or will not honor the warranty/guarantee. Unless something has changed the Vantage line is only rated for UP TO 12fpe on piston guns but again ask the maker.

Just ordered a cheap scope for a gas ram in the 16fpe range. Claims to be shockproof....we shall see about that.

Vantage as already mentioned is only supposed to hold up on 12fpe or less springers. Didn't know that myself when I bought quite a few of them and so far, they've all held up well on everything from the 15-20fpe springer and gas ram rifles I have them on. They're also all IR versions and have etched reticles so that might well be part of why they are. Still a chance you take getting one, but Hawke has a great warranty should you have any issues.
Another that's been well spoken of at least on the UK forums is the Wulf Fireball line. Only available from Optics Planet for now, but they say springer and gas ram rated so I took a chance and bought one just to see. $84.99, free delivery and comes with a set of rings included.

I’ve found it can be hard to tell sometimes if a scope is on its way out. I had a cheap 2-7x BSA airgun scope on my Hatsan 135 for the past few years and a few months ago I upgraded the scope on one of my better air rifles and did the musical scopes thing, upgrading all the other rifles on down the line.
Well, I ended up putting a 3-12x Accushot on that Hatsan and all of a sudden it seems like I can’t miss with that rifle. The accuracy has obviously improved, so it appears that the old BSA had started to fail. I’d observed things like 4” groups at 50 yards, but had just chalked that up to being a hold sensitive rifle with a barrel that hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. There are just so many things on a springer like loose stock screws that you can attribute bad accuracy to.

I have used Japanese Bushnell Trophy, Weaver V16, Simmons made in Korea scopes on my RX2, several Theoben Eliminators with no issues

I appreciate all of your input and ordered a Hammers 3x9x40 scope with a one piece mount. If it works great or if it fails I’m out less than $100. Figure it’s worth the gamble. Again thanks! Charles

Following! I need to get one for my hatsan 135 vortex in .22. That thing is the hardest recoiling springer I've ever shot. Like a dummy when I was doing shot strings I was pulling the trigger with the Knuckle of my trigger finger and felt like it was going to pull my finger off.

It’s the most powerful springer I’ve ever shot, but I think the Gamo Magnum kicks a little harder and it’s definitely harder to cock.Following! I need to get one for my hatsan 135 vortex in .22. 500 shots through my .25 Gamo Magnum. Still rocking the original scope.
I also have this scope that I really love. Wouldn’t be afraid to mount it on the Magnum. Check out the quality control process on YouTube. Quite the beating each one gets before getting the stamp of approval.

The Hammers scopes definitely aren't higher quality by any means, but considering the junk that's been included on any number of rifles I've bought, they're at least a couple steps above all of them.
