FX Does this seem right?

Sounds like it needs some tuning. At those pressures you may need a heavier hammer weight. I've not tuned to that grain weight so others can say better.

Where is your IHS set at?
There is a huge difference between PW7 with the IHS screwed all the way in and PW7 with the IHS backed up to 5.5mm. You can go to 6.0mm bu I have never needed to.

First off I think you need to read your owners manual again. FX regs wont last long set over ~150Bar, that includes the front reg. And you wont have enough hammer strike to use 150Bar on the rear reg. I suggest watching a few videos posted by FX/Ernest Rowe on how to tune your Impact. You will need a heavier hammer weight and likely a heavier spring as well. But all stock parts, you should be able to push normal pellet weights above 900fps. My guess is you got another one of the FX Friday Shift Specials with a 22 or 25 Cal hammer weight instead of the correct 30 Cal weight. There is also 2 different spring lengths for the Wildcat/Mavericks and you might have the wrong one.

And for reference my Wildcat Compact Tube version was able to push 30 Cal Nielsen slugs at about 860 fps on ~140Bar.

I did read the owners manual several times. It states that the 2nd reg should be 25 to 50 bar lower than the first reg. I also watched several videos including the Ernest Rowe video. I believe Rowe set his at 150 and 170 for "high power". I did notice that my gun has a different reg gauge that the ones in the videos I watched. Well there isnt really a need for the reg gauge to go so high. 250Bar is probably the best since gauges are more accurate in the middle of their range, and you can read a lower value gauge more precisely. So if your regs are set within the FX suggested ranges, a 200Bar gauge is still a great spec. FX has always had mid production changes, or just installed the wrong parts sometimes. So your 200Bar gauge might be a mistake, or on purpose. If it was my rifle I would lower both regs to 155/135Bar and consider that my max settings on the stock FX regs. You should be able to push pellets well over 900fps at those pressures. I would also remove my hammer spring and weight and see which my rifle was shipped with and make changes accordingly. Like I mentioned in my first post, you probably have a lighter weight in your rifle than the 30Cal is supposed to.

Yes exactly. You can use an allen key to adjust the preload on the hammer spring. It is designed for fine tuning your last few fps. But if it is all the way backed out it can really lower your overall speeds. So turn your power wheel so the hole is at 6 o'clock and you can adjust the set screw. If you decide to check your hammer spring and weight, you need to remove your power wheel careful not to drop and lose the small ball bearing and spring behind it. Put a clean towel under the rifle on top of your work surface to catch them if they do fall out. Then you can measure the length of the spring and weigh the hammer spring weight on a gram scale, or post a pic. But try the IHS adjustment first. You can also call or email FX and they will help you figure out your low speeds over the phone if it still gives you trouble.

On my Wildcat 500mm I knew I was going to have to max it out to get as much fps as I could. So I adjusted my IHS preload so it was just enough to set the hammer. If you screw it too far in you may not be able to pull your charging handle back far enough to engage the hammer/sear. But Im still betting you have either too light a hammer weight or not enough IHS adjustment. Maybe both lol.

My regs(.30 cal) are set at 160/130, slug power kit installed and tuned by Utah Airguns. Didn't buy it from them but had to send it to them for warranty work...Anywho, it's how they tuned it and it's shooting jsb 44.75 at 985 fps with the power wheel on 7( accurate on 6). NSA 54 910 fps power wheel 7 and accurate.

I suggest you start by turning the IHS all the way in (clockwise), then work it out in @ 1/2 turns. The velocity will increase until a point it plateaus, then starts to decrease. The plateau is the point at which the Hammer Spring is maxed out relative to the air pressure. You can tune here, or increase the pressure and play with the IHS again to find the new plateau. Most folks recommend backing off from the plateau about 10% and tuning the gun in that area of HS : Pressure.

My guess is you are getting valve lock due to the hammer not adjusted for a heavy enough strike for 150 bar reg pressure. 150 is a lot on a maverick. I have a 600mm .30 cal and push 44.75 gr at 900 and 50 gr 870 on 120 bar.

If you are wanting to shoot 50.1 gr pellets drop the second reg to about 125 bar and adjust the internal screw until you find the spot that further adjustment (on wheel 7 setting) of the internal screw produces no more velocity increase. Then turn it back in slightly. I bet you will end up really close to 900 fps.

I finally got a chance to tune my 0.30 cal FX Maverick Sniper. The regs are set at about 170 and 140. I turned the IHS out until it would not cock with the power wheel set at 7 and then turned it back in 3/4 of a turn. I'm shooting 50.15 gr JSB pellets. I'm now getting the following velocities:

Wheel at 1 694 fps
Wheel at 2 767 fps
Wheel at 3 783 fps

Thanks to everyone for walking me through this. In one of the videos I watched the person had a digital reg gauge which I thought would be a great idea. How hard is it to replace the reg gauge? Does it just screw out?

Yes the gauge just unscrews . I use the rubber backing on a old mouse pad to get a good grip . degas the rig completely , then unscrew it and when replaced it only needs to be finger snug . Alot of people usually over tighten them and squash the x-ring underneath it needs no Teflon tape or anything extra just the x ring and finger snug . You can do it no worries .
