So I have a new gun. Covered under warranty for 5 years. The piston seal is bad. I talked to the rep, and they agree the piston seal is the problem.
Option 1 I get a shipping label, send them the gun, and they replace the seal. I maintain the warranty, but have a seal replaced potentially under the same circumstances that caused me to have a bad seal in the first place.
Option 2, they will honor the warranty, and send me a replacement seal to perform the work myself. I will be able to deburr, grease, and assemble with attention to detail as I see fit...probably eliminating whatever caused the failure in the process. The instant I do that, it voids the warranty so any future problems down the line are my problem.
