Schutzen is NOT benchrest but it is the closest category to post results in.
Gut Schuss!
June was the first match for Luftgewehr Schutzen 25 and as most have come to realize any one of my first matches shot is usually a snafu riddled dress rehearsal that eventually does gets people shooting at something. When things go well is when an MD should be nervous!
Weather was like a preheating oven, starting out nice and 75ish and by noon it was close to the ol’ reliable Texas triple digits. Winds were light to moderate and more trustworthy than on the 50 or 100 ranges, 3-5 mph right to left.
Despite the midnight-hour announcement, three of us shot on the 25yd, two springers and a PCP.
David E. Posted a 700 shooting 8gr wad cutters out of his PCP converted Beeman with open sights and taking high score. I shot a Diana 54 Air King Pro in .177 using H&N Barauda FT’s and open/dot sights ( turned the dot off but it was still mounted) posting a 693/750. Robert D’s field target setup of an AA and Hawke scope combo shot a 624/700.
Huge thanks to David and Robert for the help and patience, most issues were to be had on the 25yd range and pretty much settled for next shoot.
Reminders:
Saturday June 15th: morning is aafta field Target and N50 in the afternoon! Gates open at 8am, FT at 9 am, N50 at 1:30
October 19th & 20th
