N/A Tips for shooting springer

I don't think there are any "rules" just try what's best for you and practice a consistent hold.My shooting partner and I shoot each other's gun equally well but hold them differently.

I shoot offhand.and kneeling mostly and only bench to zero the rifles. I do find I get point of impact changes with each position that drives me mad! I don't have the same POI shifts with my Remington 40X .22 smallbore gun.

I came into this game well after having mastered other shooting disciplines… Hearing and seeing many “experienced experts” from various venues… I would say… just go shoot…. If you suck when doing it …. Do something different…. If you are good, keep doing that….

All my air rifles are springers

Consistency is the most important thing. Hold the rifle exactly the same every time. When I first started shooting a springer I held it like the Marines are taught. Wrap the sling tightly around my left arm and hold the butt stock firmly in my shoulder. Many GS died from lead poisoning doing that. Now days I can't do that as my heart really moves the POA all over the place.
