Ultimate rat bait!!!!

My neighbors rats have been picky and not venturing off into “no rats land” and onto my property….ive had success the last 3 times I’ve used this.. less than 3 bucks off Amazon … the powerful bacon smell is irresistible!

Oh trust me I gave the cheese to the rats for a reason. Now, I can see a good blue with bacon bits....tomorrow when I go grocery shopping, I need to pick up more blue AND some bacon bits. I'll take one for the team.
Let us know how it goes! Man I got another this morning! Soo super effective

The Bac'n Bits are a good idea for a warm weather bait. No spoilage and would maintain their odor without attracting flies. Are you using a motion alarm for notifications or just in a spot that you can watch while having a cup of coffee?
Exactly! I have a WYZE brand camera .. I love it! Super affordable and easy to setup.. I don’t have notifications on because it picks up tree branch movements in the wind. I have it setup on second floor soo I can use the extra IR light that’s cast from the cam… soo no need for an IR light on my rig .. yeah it’s a great bait! And a lil goes a long way! No need to make a buffet for master splinters..

Sarge, swmbo, came back from the market this morning with a Hormel Bacon Bits container (real bacon bits - strong smelling).
Its what they had at the local Quickie Mart.
I promptly broke it open, and loaded a small spoonful onto my rat target range. Hopefully a day of roasting in the hot sun has sent its bacon goodness wafting over Rodent World.

I created a chicken wire cover for it to keep the coyotes from just lapping it up at night. Its big enough for a rat to enter, but not letting coyotes get at it.

This is the backstop of a 35' patio shot. It is two landscape timbers that are turned 4"x4" to create stackable "logs" (big box purchases). On top is two courses of fence boards to create an 18" tall backstop. This creates a backstop that is sort of like this -> __|
I stapled a piece of grid wire in as a triangular filler between the vertical and horizontal that makes a grid tunnel. I cut a pass through to cleanly dump a spoonful into the tunnel.
The Rats very frequently enter this target range from either side, and use the horizontal flat wood as a path from one side to the other, like the Duck chain at the carnival shooting gallery.

The Rats run along the two baseboards, on that horizontal/vertical interface rat path. The hardware cloth creates a triangular tunnel

This is that range, above, ^. The backstop is to the left of the image. I call it the Whack-A-Mole Gallery due to the frequency of shots at Gophers popping their heads out in front of the backstop,... that and plenty of rats too. It is my wifes wild bird feeding station.
