Pyramid Air and Western Rattler

I have always looked to Pyramid Air as a guidepost for reputable/quality air rifles. If something isn’t carried by Pyramid Air, it has been a red flag for me.

I’ve watched several video reviews of the Western Rattler and have become interested in it. A quick search of Pyramid Air shows they do not carry any Western product, which makes me very reluctant in purchasing a Rattler.

What are your thoughts about the Rattler and should Pyramid not carrying it be a reason for concern?

You won't find it on Pyramyd's site because its manufactured by Western Airguns which is AOA's house brand. AOA was the original importer of the LCS SK19. Then they decided it would be more profitable to cut them out of the loop and manufacture it themselves.

When I'm looking for a certain branded product I go to whatever company sells the product. If another company doesn't offer what I'm looking for it doesn't make me doubt the quality of that product. Just because Pyramyd doesn't carry Rattlers doesn't mean the guns aren't good. I don't get the correlation of "if Pyramyd doesn't carry it, it must not be good". Faulty logic imho.

I think it's a Huben derivative, or perhaps Huben and Western are partners?
Huben and Western are not partners. I have no doubt that the Western airguns copy some elements of Huben's tech, but I doubt it is authorized by Huben. That said, with Huben made in China, they reap what they sow . . .

For what it's worth, I have one of each in my collection, both in .22 caliber. I like the Huben better, but I can see how someone else could prefer the Sidewinder over the Huben.

My 357 rattler has been fantastic.... the design and capabilities are overall so far ahead of the competition it's not even fair to compare. A few little gripes and imperfections, nothing major until this weekend. After about 100rds somethig went wonky and the next shot let out a huge burst of air and massive recoil. A moment later a little piece of brass bushing fell out near the mag. I shelved it, contacted the vendor and am waiting for a reply. Had probably 3k rounds through it before this. Will see what the service is like... hope they don't make me ship it. Woud rather spend a few minutes on the phone to talk through the issue and get parts.

AoA did the self service thing for me on the one issue I had with the Sidewinder - the mag stopped advancing. They diagnosed the issue over the phone and sent me the replacement part on the agreement that I would send back the bad part, which I gladly did. It worked out great. I hope they can repeat that for you.
