Well it depends on your build and what weight rifle you can handle but most of your east coast PRS competitors rifles will fall between 15-25lbs with the majority of the top shooter coming in 18+lbs in my experience. with most people building their rifles now trying to build that weight in as best they can by using thicker barrels and heavy stocks so their weight is as far from the balance point as possible to take advantage of leverage while also staying close to the center axis line.
Obviously everything is a balance act with diminishing returns but assuming your able to maintain proper balance of the rifle weight is your friend in PRS.
I got to play with this first hand at my last PRS match, started shooting a 15lb rifle mid match had to switch to a 19lbs rifle and the difference settling in the bag on barricades and during recoil was noticeable and has me planning to add 3-4lbs to my rifle in the off season. but personally don’t plan to go over the 19-20lb mark as the weight does start to really change how you can move the rifle during a stage. another extreme example is my DRS 700 started at 5.4lbs and currently is 12lbs. night and day difference on a barricade and I’d like to get that up to 15-18lbs this winter as well.
All that to say if the platform continue to perform its weight would be a plus as a PRS rig.
