Corbin Swaging Press Input

@
I use a pressurized sprayer..
SureShot....
Give a light spray.. wipe down the outside surface..
Then use a Cotton swab to clean and coat the bore of the dies..
@Ca_Varminter I assume that you’re spraying oil on to your dies because of the knurling on the outside of the die. How often are you cleaning the bores of your dies? I think I’ll try cleaning with acetone.

Made and ready to shoot. Honestly these couldn't have been easier to make. It makes me want to consider selling my Paradigm to buy a set up now..... 😢

Either the die is oversized, the punch is undersized or a misalignment. I have similar results with my bases due to the die being oversized by .0006 on a different press and take off the flashing with a razor blade. I would contact Corbin.
I’m new to this, but it seems that with the S press misalignment can occur pretty easily with the top punch. Just a suspicion I’d want to know what’s causing that if it were my press and die(s).

Ndwind is the owner of the press. I have messaged him and told him to take a look at the thread here, as well as some slugs. This was the first time I have used the press and I didn't think anything of it to be honest. There were many that I was able to just brush the flashing off. But I agree there should be zero flashing on the slug.

I can say that the dies all have 218 written on them, and I was using the .210 lead wire from Corbin.

Glad it's working out for you. I enjoy making my own slugs.
Agree with you there! These were a blast to make and quite enjoyable. Have been looking at things to sell to free up some funds for a complete set for my own use. I really do appreciate NDwind letting me use his stuff, but it is always fun to play at home as well :D

I will call Kelly at Corbin in the morning and talk to him about it. They are great folks at Corbin and want customer satisfaction! I have three other die sets on order. I have their HBC slug dies on order for 22 and 25 caliber they are like the Scout Sniper slugs. I am also waiting for the dies to swage my cast paper patch bullets for my long range muzzleloader target rifle. So they have perfect bases and noses.

That HBC .22 sounds promising. Has anyone been able to try them out.
