I must say I am disappointed in the variance I see on these specific pellets. Especially, FX! I started using their 15.9/.22 pellets in my Maverick several years ago as they seemed to be a bit better, for accuracy and speed variance, than I saw in JSB version of the same pellet. I recall hearing they had their own dyes(ie. Air Arms) that JSB used when making them.Recently started seeing some variances in my speeds and accuracy, so I started weighing them and saw quite a spread in both the number of pellets and their weights. Specifically, the 15.9's had about 20% falling in the 16.2 range(15.15 and above) and 4% less than 15.7, with some as low as 15.5. I haven't checked the head or skirt sizes but would believe they vary just as much. or more cuz I'm seeing lots of mangled skirts, too.
I don't KNOW that this is the cause of the speed and accuracy issues I've seen but I'm pretty sure it contributes.
From what I have seen on this board, others have similar problems. Surprised that FX hasn't decided to move their dyes elsewhere(ie. JTS????). When you are striving for performance (I'm a bit OCD!), having pellets that are consistent would help.
