Epic Opinion with Epic 2 vs Skout Evo

I'm taking my time with my new air rifle purchase. Seems like a lot of exciting high power slug slingers are coming out. I'm looking for more of a bench rifle, I have a .25 Kalibrgun Cricket as a woods-walker hunter.

The Epic 2 with the 700 mm barrel/CF bottle is really catching my eye.; something about those Eastern European guns. Have also been looking at the Skout EVO but not seeing any targets shot on YouTube yet. Shooter1721 has a real nice review up. Wish he had talked a bit more about the barrel he was using.

I have a couple of questions about the Epic.
I normally shoot .25 unless someone says that .22 is superior?
Leaning towards the CZ barrel but if the LW is better please chime in.
Not sure if I need a foldable stock. I can see that with the smaller tube versions w 300-500 mm barrel but with a long gun? Any opinions?

Thanks for any input

I've got an Epic 2 300mm compact in 22 cal. I really like the gun. About to buy a 500mm barrel for it. I don't know how people get the CZ or LW barrel when ordering. I did not have a choice. I would really like to have a choked barrel for pellets but what ever cam in mine shoots pretty good. I did not get the folding stock but can ad it later. I like everything as solid as it can be.

The epic 2 in 700mm is a long gun. It is a nice gun, no doubt. My 25 cal in 550mm barrel gets about 82 FPE , or 42g at 940 FPS. As for LW poly or CZ barrel, so far, both shoot equal accuracy, but with very different diameter slugs. The CZ seems to like .253 and the LW poly skinnier, about .251 and lighter , 40g.

I think you should also consider the RTI mora. Personally, I'm not an electronic gun fan, so I'm hesitant with the EVO. Not saying it's a bad gun! Just not my fancy.

Yeah I wouldn't get a 700mm gun in a rifle. It'd be well over 50" with a moderator. I'd lean Skout as they really seem to be pushing things forward with their guns and customer service is awesome.
I’ve just been waiting to see some groups shot by the Evo before making a decision. Also I was interested in .30 cal but no longer seems available from SKOUT

I have a 700 mm long .177 shooting Two and it is indeed a fine rifle, feel a lot better / more sturdy than my Maverick, of course that also come with additional weight, in this size it is for sure a bench gun, maybe PRS.
But i think even the more compact versions of the Two, are heavy VC lighter alternatives

Both the CZub and LW barrels are performing very well, i myself ordered a LW barrel for mine but it was " busted " having a severe choke in quite a bit of the middle part of the barrel.
Changed at factory to a CZub barrel, which is very smooth and do not have the slightest inclination of a choke anywhere.
I think Rick was shooting a CZub barreled one, the LW barrel seem like it is the optional "upgrade " though both seem to perform equally well, at least in the larger calibers.

The Skout also sound like a nice bit of kit, but with this even more so, when you are locked to the small caliber by your overlords, well it is almost too much of a "good" thing in regard to price, but i will for damn sure keep a eye out for these and not least if they are able to push the heaviest .177 slugs in style.

I am also looking at the Mora, but again i get the same feeling as with the Skout rifle, also this will not come with their new barrels, so will probably have a generic CZ or LW barrel, which in the .177 caliber do not ensure you can shoot the heaviest slugs in style.
But no doubt the Mora is also a lot of rifle.

Im in the same predicament between the Epic Two and the Skout Evo. I’m looking for a gun to compete in extreme field target and 100 yard benchrest. I have a Delta Wolf and Ghost in .25cal. Not getting the accuracy I need to compete at extreme benchrest. Gonna try polishing the barrels next. If that doesn’t work gonna try a Evo and Epic two next.

I think I asked you this on another thread. You have answered here, just forgot you had, so please disregard the other thread...and thanks for the info, it'll help when it comes to pulling the trigger on one of these rifles.

I watched the epic 2 video shooter1721 put out and that gun looks super interesting. I am also curious to see evo vids. I own an epoch .25. I do like the gun and it is super accurate. The only annoyances I have with it are I’m not able to achieve as low of ES as my fx rifles no matter what I do. However the accuracy is great when I do my part out to 75. You also hear and feel that bigger valve in my opinion. Not as smooth a shooter as my m3 was. Like you I don’t get what’s going on with the .30 cal being gone? The good thing is Skout is right in PA. However, I will say their service and response was great out of the gate but they haven’t answered the last two emails I’ve sent about buying just a liner instead of a caliber change kit and one about lowering ES. A bit of a question up in the air for me about CS at this point too.
